There are no upper bouts, and I've also heard that will effect what you get out of it. Less resonance or something. Hmm... Use an eq/boost pedal, turn up your amp?

You may be right about that, and it sounds like it makes sense. Its very fun though. So easy to play up the neck. So I'll stick with changing out the pots and enjoying it for what it its.
Hey all, not sure where else to ask this. I love my TV Silver Thunderbird huge so wanted to find a companion. I ended up finding an Epiphone Flying V and it plays great, but . . . . even though it has the same TB plus pickups its seems like the output is a little lower. I have the height of the pickups the same on both and the tone is similar, but there is a volume drop between the two. Also, I have to replace the pots, does any one know if they are the usual 500k? Figured I'd ask before cracking it open to find out so I could order it ahead of time. Thanks for the help, and of course if there aren't pics it doesn't exist so . . . . . .View attachment 802245

As we Brazilians use to say: "one thing is one thing, another thing is another thing".I've heard Coffee makes t-birds betterIn your case it'll probably bring the grain out a little more
Also on another note unrelated to birds & related to my future builds: It's one thing to sketch a small drawing of a semi hollow bass, but making an actual template full sized body is quite difficult.
Shall I add you to the club Sir?
Exactly! As we say in the U.S. - On one hand you're correct, and on the other hand... you have five completely different fingers. As we Brazilians use to say: "one thing is one thing, another thing is another thing".

That made me chuckle abit. Too bad we say 'on one side...' over here else I'd steal that.
