I have 60% disability due to Agent Orange. If I get 70%, then I can be reimbursed for not being able to work from 2012 to now. I will be 65 in June, but we're scraping by and trying to stay in our house.

I don't gig except for Sundays at church so no REAL need for 3 basses, and my arthritis says I'm done with long scale. I also have 3 guitars, but they are different enough I want to hang on to them. I don't play the Variax much but the versatility for recording is amazing. I also have a Takamine acoustic and a Hofner Colorama reissue with minis.

3 guitars, 2 basses.... For guitars, an Egnater Rnenegade 1x12, and for bass, a Rumble 200 V3(1x15 combo), and an Ampeg SCR-DI. I leave a Stewart 200 w power amp and a 1x15 cab I leave at church. I just bring the Longhorn and the SCR and I'm good to go...

I have no idea what the Tbird is worth either. I'm thinking about $300 with an OHSC that has seen its better days. Being it's so rare(NR 5 string w/P/Js(bart replacement for stock), I have no idea..

I'm very sorry to hear about your situation and I really hope that it improves. I'm not sure what the 5'ers go for anymore but Larry bought one recently so he could give an idea. What condition is the bass in? That also will help determine the price you should ask.

Pretty good shape for a '94 It has Bart pups and Chromes. The case took most of the abuse!

Just for clarity, I get 10% for hearing and the other 50% for Diabetes type 2 and related neuropathy from Agent Orange.

I think they just have a rule where they make you fight for that last 10% that kicks in a ton of benefits.

They're just economy tuners. Chinese or korean or wherever. I'm replacing the dead stock ones from my goth with just economy tuners for 30$ on amazon.

Honestly, i don't get the point of spending top dollar on tuning keys (cause you'd be pissed if the expensive ones broke in a matter of time compared to the cheaper ones). Mine will wear down overtime, but as long as i keep them in good shape, my gear stays in tune. There's only two of my basses that have top quality tuners: my white pbass (7ender CBS sized machines) & the grabber (schaller BMs - which i probably shouldn't have gotten cause 90$ & nickel compared to chrome on the body). But all my guitars/basses hold tune.

I had the stock tuners on my Epi IV, and three of the four had a bad hitch in them. Tuning with them was agonizingly frustrating. I replaced them with Hipshots and it's been like a new lease on life for that bass. In the big picture its a small investment, but it makes a monumental difference. Of course, YMMV.

I usually wait until I have a bad/intermittent one and then get a better set. They get smoother as you go up in price, and they keep in tune, 'cept for the dang B that keeps nicking the case .... I ALWAYS put locking tuners on my electric guitars....all 2 of em!!

Well, it is true I've been thru a bushel of electric guitars, but I finally settled on a Variax 500 and a Hofner Colorama reissue with minis as the keepers....

On my thunderbird, the d string tuner was completely loose (one bad thing about closed gear - can't tighten it), & 1 or 2 others are fairly worn as well but not drastic like the D tuner post. & locking tuners are ones i'll never need same as robotuners that tune the guitar on its own.

Looks to me to be an Epiphone Classic Pro IV in Vintage Sunburst with regular factory OEM tuners, similar to either Grovers or Gotoh's...

I think the photgraphic angle makes the tuners look shorter than usual - To comparison here's a picture from the Epiphone website:

Personally, if I buy an Epi Pro IV or (*) Classic, I still have a set of Grover that comes from my Non Reverse.

In any case, the mini tuners as the picture still give best look.
