In that case just say - "it's 6 of one, half dozen of the other"
Or if your mathematically challenged just shrug your shoulders and say - "it's the same difference"
And don't forget, when approached by someone you don't know who is asking questions you don't want to answer, the universal fail safe response is "no thanks I just had my shoes shined". Say it with a dead straight face, very matter of fact, pleasant and sincere while you keep walking forward. Nine times out of ten they will scratch their head and wonder what the heck just happened.
We have no shoe shine boys/men here either. Might even make it better as they wouldn't know what I'm talking about.
There are guys here all over public places trying to get a signature for NGO x, they're students and get 7€/h + money for sigs. So they can get quite annoying. One day I had an hour off studying and didn't know what to do, so when I got out of the record store I went to there was this guy and I thought I'd had a little fun. He approached me tried to get a sig for a project in somewhere Africa building a fountain. They needed some ten thousand €s to send an engineer, a construction firm and material.
I asked him if it wouldn't be better building a school where the skills are shown that are needed to build the well and then they can pass on the knowledge. Else they have to raise money everytime to maintain the well or if the build a new one. etcetc. After 20 minutes the guy admitted that the project is crap. Next week he was substituded by another signature drone.
So 2 weeks ago a friend called up and while she was in a store I waited outside and a NGO-sig-guy approached. I just told him that he simply doesn't want to talk to me - face dead serious. He immediately went away.
