Thunderbird Club

What are the Dates for your Band in Port Angeles?

We are at The Metta Room in downtown Pt Angeles on 5/13 and 5/14, it's a nice venue for us, holds around 200 has a good PA and soundman, plus it's big enough that you can get parts of the room and just have a conversation and not yell at someone to be heard. Come on out, it's a beautiful little town!

That's a sweet one! I'm kind of so-so on natural wood finishes but have always liked those Zebrabirds

I have pretty much the same feeling towards wood finishes too, and can't help feeling how much cooler it would have looked, if they had made or veneered the center block with zebra wood as well...

As i'm varnishing my thunderbird, I've planed out my 2016 gear mods & builds. & seen in the following is all that will be complete by the end of 2016!

All this + my ibanez bass, which currently resides at my friends place due to my growing lack of space in my room :p, will be complete or on the verge of completion by the end of 2016. My Pbass Sheena is going to have a Seymour Duncan Hot for Pbass pickup as it's current pup, a Quarter Pounder, is going into that thunderbird build, aka tigerbird :) which most of it will be done in april minus having it's bridge pickup, a set of seymour duncan Classic Stack Jazz pickups which will act as my "humbucker" bridge pup :D. An 80's Profile stratocaster copy which has been in this state for couple of years (needed to find upgrades for the bridge saddles & tuning keys along with replacing electornics), my Rickenbacker 4003 bass copy which i'm just upgrading the electronics & wiring it up like a real 4001/03 & the two templates: one is my Gibson Ripper build, the other is my short scale supernova bass build which has been in rebuild mode for the last 7 years (& i'm only really starting now due to more funds & the design is final)

That's all for now, i'm pretty stoked to get all these out of the way from building, to playing them!

EDIT: I forgot about my coffin case build too. A universal case for all my basses. No more acoustic guitar gig bag for my thunderbirds :p & i've also just realized that along with the ripper build, since i'll be using the same wood for other builds i can start my Semi hollow flat top bass build & maybe a dan armstrong bass :D - Thanks to @mistergoats for his contribution & time in helping me replicate the design of the dan armstrong bass's body!

Dang you guys post a lot! It's been busy of late. Birthday last Friday and my friend Lacey Caroline (of you like modern country look her up on Spotify and YouTube. She's damn good) took me to dinner and then to see Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. I LOVED it! Saturday was down to Nashville to see my friends Vampire Bleach Bomb and Dark Hound just kill it. Sunday was mostly Thunderbirding, woodshedding for Threshing Floor's gig at Daisy Duke's in Nashvegas. I've been wanting to play there for a really long time, so minor bucket list item achieved.

Man, did you close some portal worm hole or something?
It's quiet enough in here to hear a cricket fart

Hey all, not sure where else to ask this. I love my TV Silver Thunderbird huge so wanted to find a companion. I ended up finding an Epiphone Flying V and it plays great, but . . . . even though it has the same TB plus pickups its seems like the output is a little lower. I have the height of the pickups the same on both and the tone is similar, but there is a volume drop between the two. Also, I have to replace the pots, does any one know if they are the usual 500k? Figured I'd ask before cracking it open to find out so I could order it ahead of time. Thanks for the help, and of course if there aren't pics it doesn't exist so . . . . . .
