I've been planning on white, but that's gorgeous.

Did you say white? I love the white, but I think I love the burst better. I love looking at that wonderful wood. It's colors are very rich for an instrument in that price range. But the white is likely more stunning.

A drummer friend said the white would sure look good with all gold hardware. Hummm.

And the burst reminds me of my beloved '64.

I have used the EMG Geezer PJ set in a couple of basses, one of which is a Hamer Bird. To my ears they are punchy and growly with some grit to them. I really like them. The Hamer originally had active EMG's but I definitely like these better.

Here's some good sense advice - I'm sure that over the years you've collected lots of stuff. Take a walk through the house, garage and yard and see if there's anything you want less than a TBird, if so, sell it.

Well, depending on how you look at the Longhorn it might have three plies. Body top and back are a masonite sandwhich for a wood center core.
PS - ya gotta giggle at the creative method for finishing the wood body core - vinyl adhesive tape. Only Dano could get away with that one. I won't mention the plastic strap pins. LOL
But by gosh they sound sweet!

Actually, I always loved the white tape along the edge on the Danelectros. The plastic strap pins not so much.

There's something about white basses...I had a black PG on it, to sorta match the the headstock. Now I have a burst...she's a biooooot. A bit aged, she is, but can't fake experience !! If I get another (which I'm not even trying to fool myself, I will...), I'm not sure about the color. Could be black, could be white....could be according to the deal at hand.

Also, they're using a proper Les Paul. Before I switched to bass, I always planned to eventually get a 3 p/u Black Beauty. I never actually played a 3 p/u LP; I just loved the look. I'm sure I'd have found something to do with it.

When it came out - I must have seen it four times in its first theater run. Have the Soundtrack. That film turned me onto Nick Cave - have been a huge fan since. Bruno Ganz is one of my all time favorite international actors. Speaking of Wim Wenders - "The American Friend" with Bruno Ganz and Dennis Hopper - so good.

Neil loves his LP's - so much a part of his signature sound. Kirk Kirkwood (Meat Puppets) was an LP guy for years - but these days he's playin' a Fender Strat! I always considered a LP part of his sound also. I have to wonder if it came down to an endorsement agreement. Nothing out of the question... the Meat Puppets aren't major draw power these days. Still love the pups - one of my all time favorite bands!

All of them - I put on that soundtrack and it's like a time machine. David Lynch soundtracks are like that too. And Cronenberg (Howard Shore) soundtracks ...

Nice. I saw Crime & The City Solution in 2012 and they were still amazing. My wife and I somehow were right up front and ended up hanging out with the drummer's mother. She was adorable. So proud of her son.

Nice. I saw Crime & The City Solution in 2012 and they were still amazing. My wife and I somehow were right up front and ended up hanging out with the drummer's mother. She was adorable. So proud of her son.

That's awesome! I saw The Pixies in Columbus Ohio when they first were big. Went with a local DJ from Cincinnati and got back stage after the show. Kim Deals' parents were there (basic Ohio folk) and it made the whole experience for me. Young cutting-edgey musicians and these two totally mid-western mother and father. It put everything in perspective. Remember little of the show other than really liking Kim Deals simple hypnotic basslines and her sense of where to place accents. Plus she'd just let he eyes roll back in her head when in the heat of it - phew! - She was so inside the music at that point! I've been there - it's orgasmic. I think that's part of the deal playing music - if you can work your way to the point where what you are playing/being a part of is at the core of what music is - you can really trip on it - sans drugs.
