Exactly. My EB-2 isn't exactly a '64 Thunderbird, let alone one of 3 '63s, but it has no market value because it won't get sold until sometime after I'm dead.

That's why I love riding. Racing was the same only on steroids. The world is two seconds long at most on the track. On the street, you have to stretch that to 10 or 20 seconds, but no more. Playing music is similar. You can do some other things just a bit, but you have to snap right back into it or things go awry.

The one time I ignored the warning bells going off in my head, I got knocked down by the guy who the bells were warning me about. I somehow knew he was going to swerve into my lane, and sure enough, he did.
I prefer the Epi Classic Pro over the Vintage Pro, and it’s a couple hundred cheaper too
Happy Thunderbird Thursday. Pickup rings arrived. Deciding how much I like them. They have adhesive instead of screw holes (thanks for that amazing idea, @Dadagoboi). I think will end up keeping them. They add a certain completion to the look, plus they deemphasize the Hipshot bridge a bit.
Yup, for now. Rumor is the building will be demolished and a new residential tower put up on the site. I heard the lot was valued at something north of $5.5mil.
I kinda feel like the low lighting de-emphasizes the bridge plenty.

Here's some good sense advice - I'm sure that over the years you've collected lots of stuff. Take a walk through the house, garage and yard and see if there's anything you want less than a TBird, if so, sell it.All you guys are making me want to spring for an actual Gibson Thunderbird. Pretty much what my Longhorn sounds like as well. Unfortunately, I don't sound sound as good as him.
You counted correctly. The plies may not run the full length of the neck but as long as they are part of the neck assembly and not the wings it counts.
Well, depending on how you look at the Longhorn it might have three plies. Body top and back are a masonite sandwhich for a wood center core.
PS - ya gotta giggle at the creative method for finishing the wood body core - vinyl adhesive tape. Only Dano could get away with that one. I won't mention the plastic strap pins. LOL

I'd admit the VP is more of a looker, and is a great bass. I just prefer the shorter headstock and less chrome of the CP (also cheaper which I don't mind keeping in my classroom as much...locked up of course)
