I’d just like to know what they are. I’m thinking DR Hi Beams maybe.
they have no silk at either end, all ball ends are gold.

That thread gave me nothing but GAS. Then I went to websites of companies that caught my eye. More GAS. @winteremute is really good at it.Out in genpop, @wintremute did his annual NAMM thing of providing us with an insane amount of photos on just bass gear. Such a generous thing to do! I have an irrational aversion to coffee table basses, so I’ll just focus on a few things that caught my eye.

Another failed attempt to cop a TBird vibe!

Nordstrand basses that to me are pretty dang coolView attachment 3678989
Dunable seems to cater mostly to the Stoner/Doom crowd, but I’ve heard them and they sound fantastic. Personally think their aesthetics are on point tooView attachment 3678990
These G&L’s are almost cool. Love the simplicity and shell pink is a beautiful thing.View attachment 3678991 View attachment 3678992
This would be an example of something I wouldn’t want, but deeply admire the craftsmanship View attachment 3678993
TV Jones is an old pal, so I’m biased. I also think his pickups are amazing. Kinda like this bass too!View attachment 3678994
Serek gets nothing but praise from anyone who’s ever met him and his designs are awfully original and cool. The 30” scale ain’t my bag, but I wish interesting folks like him nothing but the bestView attachment 3678995
I think this Iceman bass looks really cool. Sue meView attachment 3678996
I dunno, I think this bass looks neatView attachment 3678997
One of the few basses I regret selling. Yes, they weigh a ton, but no other passive bass has such amazing tonal variety and it might be my favorite neck shape of all time. One of the most underrated basses ever, IMO.
Thanks to @wintremute for all his photos! Check out his thread if you want to see more
View attachment 3679324 Ok string freaks. The Gibson came to me with “I dunno, EB probably” strings on it. Whatever they are they seem fine, new and clean (no crud in them).

Sounds like you just volunteered! Thanks on behalf of the gang. Why isn't there a database? Or a wiki?

Oh no, that's so true. Wait. I've been in those herds before. Do we know each other?Sounds like a good plan to me. Most of us are pretty good at stupid. A herd of stupid is always more fun than a single shot of stupid.
You've been to business meetings too, huh?
You have a problem!
It could be worse, you don't have model trains or women's clothing as part of your life![]()

That's pre-CB Plan 9, from my favorite era of theirs.pretty cool CB![]()
Nah. It's not communal. Perfectly happy with the GK and Hartke. I have played through Marshall guitar amps before. It's fun. Orange guitar amps are REALLY fun.Run that TBird through that Marshall. I'm sure it's a guitar cab. That never stopped me.

Very talented guy! I think he’s possibly outsourcing production on those retro looking basses. Could be wrongThat thread gave me nothing but GAS. Then I went to websites of companies that caught my eye. More GAS. @winteremute is really good at it.
I saw the Nordstrand stuff and was a bit surprised. I thought I read he didn’t have the time anymore to devote to building. Do you know if he changed his mind or was he just clearing out? He’s a talented guy.
Thanks... we lost Eric Stumpo, the band's guitarist and founder toward the end of last year. Now it's part of my heritage, that I was involved with them for some years. Funny how perspective changes.pretty cool CB![]()
