:smug:As embarrassed as I am to say it, I really do like McDonalds French Fries as long as they are piping hot. I have a hard time getting home before I eat them all if I get takeout. Steak fries are good too, but there's just something about McDonalds fries that causes me to act like a crack addict when I get them in the car. Once they cool off, I don't like them at all.

Well that's 3 billion plus people vs your puny 300 million = ~10:1 in favour of crisps.
Of course if we used that logic we'd all be playing Fenders instead of TBirds. ;)

Nice high fiber diet there. :woot:

I’m so glad this group can so fearlessly take on such weighty, yet vitally important topics such as snack food identification
Well, I suppose we could go down the path of - which Fries are best for Metal. :bassist:

Had a nice day of it working with the new little Marshall. I’m loving it. Paid a Benjamin and change for a nice little amp. I’m loving the hybrid design with a valve preamp for the classic channel (its two channels). Effects send into my GC 200 watt Acoustic effects in makes a huge roar. Playing at 2 is way loud. All the birds, including the Silverburst, sound great.

My Foundation sounds awesome through this setup. i love the Superferites. No J honk. Thunderbirdish tones.

Ok. So? When I’m there, I eat crisps or chips. Here, I eat chips or fries.
BTW, hand cut fries are a favorite in our house.

Pommes Frites in the EU......

From where I come from, we use a less fancy moniker for saying I'll have some fries with that... We go: Donne moé des pétaks frites !

Those Commonwealthers...... Telling us Amis about potatoes, doesn't Idaho grow more than the rest of the world combined :D

Idaho grows 1/3 of the potatoes grown in the US.

Quebecers eat lots of'em... at least I do :-)

Oh yeah.
We fear not tackling important issues. We even talk about basses once in a while :D.

Pommes Frites in the EU......

reminds me of something. My Mum steered (pushed) me into taking French language classes at school in years 9 & 10. (‘76 & ‘77).

Anyway towards the end of year 10 the school arranged for an external exam from the Allianz Francais. Merde, I was in trouble now !

anyway, part of the exam was to make a menu for a meal. I remember pulling from somewhere ‘gruyere en Jatz’ as a horses douver, and ‘steak frites’ for the main.

bloody passed, and received a certificate.

Dropped French at the first opportunity, with no argument from parents or school when I declined to continue it in years 11 & 12.

Well that's the thing isn't it Mark. I can understand venues not wanting to move large cabs around or have them loaded in/out during shows or redoing mic setups or whatever. But saying 'you can't sit your amp here and connect it to the house cab' smacks of complete lack of interest in actual music. What next? You have to use the house Jazz bass*?

*Sorry, was playing 'fantasy pedalboard' and looking at preamp pedal demos last night and they were all done with Js. Okay, that's what it sounds like with a J, all well and good, now what does it sound like with something else?

With 3-5 bands a night, I wish the 'pile of equipment just off the stage' wasn't a real thing here. Sometimes the bar has a 'back space' and refuses use of it for such. Instead valuable (for paying customers) floor space is taken over by a pile of equipment. Brilliant.

That and measuring speed in furlongs per fortnight.

Which, as with all these others, we inherited from whom?
We decided to simply break the cycle. Even if we HAD converted, within 50 years, everyone would be expecting us to convert again."But measuring weight in hens teeth and speed in protons per participle is SO much more logical!"

Flemish or Walloon?

No, the fries are French, except when they are Waffles, in which case they are not taters. (Belgium is the only country I have visited where I had to tip to get out of the bathroom. There was no waffling there.)

(I heard Flemish and Walloon, but I certainly couldn't tell you after which was which. Which is likelier to wag their index finger and say, "Oh, no, no, no, noooo! No, no, no."? And I mean "no", not "nonh!")

I’ve encountered a few places in the US where you’re ‘not allowed’ to use anything but supplied backline. I usually just set up my rig anyway and it works out fine. If it’s filmed or televised and they insist, I’ll usually just go with want they want me to use. But yeah, it’s a thing in some venues. Some sound people just don’t want any variables. One might be tempted to say they’re just lazy

Or not very good. Not that I have run across any.
