In just a few days, i'll be assembling my goth bird. Unfortunately, i gotta wait til i can string her up again since the keys arrive in the next few weeks. So while waiting for them, i'll be building both my buds RD bass & my Tiger bird!

Once, many pages ago, there was a resurfacing of the 'neck-dive' conversation, and I chimed in with a solution I've been employing for years now. It not only addresses neck dive but also a tendonitis situation that had been coming on for s few years prior... Just thought I'd post a photo of my answer to it, as it was handy:

This arrangement tends to bring the headstock closer, reducing the reach of my arm/left hand. That was my tendonitis thing- caused my palm and arm to tingle uncomfortably. That problem has been allowed to heal since I've stopped aggravating it.

The rear button is a Dunlop Staplock, because it's set into the belly-curve and is at an unfriendly (dangerous) angle. The straplocks have never let me down. The top button is stock. Sometimes I use a washer to retain the strap at the top button, and I put the bass away(not this one, every situation is it's own) with the strap attached...

I'm tired of fighting with this 3 point bridge and my E string in particular and was wondering how many of you have replace the stock 3 point with either the:

Hip Shot Supetone
[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

Babicz FCH 3 point

and if so how you are liking the change?

by the by i also recently pick up an Epi T-Bird Classic Pro but no need to give me a number as i already have one

Did that with my Steinberger Spirit bass, mounted strap knobs at a couple different locations on the upper back of the body to shift things more to the right, works quite well. Ultimately I added a strap hook which allowed me to go back to hooking the rear of the strap to the outer upper rear of the body and keep things in the same place. Considered doing exactly what you did with your T-Bird (putting a strap knob on the upper back) to mine but I've ultimately added a Steiney strap hook to my T-Bird too, which I posted about earlier. Works like a charm, another effective way to get things more where they should be ergonomically and eliminate any neck dive issues.

I have replaced the 3 point on 2 Gibson's (Tbird and RD) with the Hipshot and really liked the change. I was able to get lower action on both basses and it does seem to increase sustain a bit (not that they needed any help in that area). It does have a large footprint but that doesn't bother me. Can't speak for the Babicz but I would like to try that on another bass at some point.

Knock knock, may I officially enter the club? Two photos attached, one of 1992 Gibson T-Bird Sunburst and also a 2012/2013 NR in Pelham Blue. I call her The Blue Bird.
