Thunderbird Club

The seller and I have reached a deal on the 2018 Gibson RD I'm thinking of buying.
I'm perfectly happy with my /19 Gibson Thunderbird...last chance to help me decide to pull the trigger or pull the plug on the deal. Common sense says that I don't need it, but she's brutally beautiful...

Inspiration..Thanks.I have a one set gig this weekend. That picture made me open the case that holds the 11.75 pound monster.I should be able to support it for an hour...Put a new battery in it and I’m good to go for Saturday. It still Rocks and is surprisingly well balanced.I kinda forgot about how cool it is..Cheers!

It's not Epiphone though, it's the local distributor, Australis Music which acts as the 'middle-man' between Epiphone and the retailer. Epiphone > Distributor > Retailer > Purchaser. If you need a part or whatever, you have to find the distributor and they'll tell you 'yes that is available, contact this retailer'.
Reverse pyramid scheme?

it is really poor though. I had hoped it would improve once we got this new distribution deal.

One would expect parts availability would be a requirement to hang your shingle selling new items.
The least they could do would be to order them in from o/s when ordered by a customer. Can’t be bothered even doing that. Poor.
Secretly backed by 7ender?

Hipshot are completely amazing. You can call them and speak to an intelligent human who actually knows something. You don't wait 25 minutes in a cue before they answer. They will tell you pro and con of different parts and treat you like you have a brain. Amazing. Kudos to them in all important ways.
Indeed. When I bought one of my bridges, they had a one week delay because they were manufacturing a batch of parts. That put the delivery window into the middle of my vacation. I called (spoke to one person only) and it was no problem to hold the shipment for a week until I returned.

As well, emails come from a real person and he/she will respond to replies!

Meh, a peril of viddy-ing long after recording, especially if you're not playing the tunes a lot after recording. Fact remains it's a slick piece of work.
Thanks, I don’t really play stuff like that the same way twice, so I would have had to chart out where my riffs and stuff were in the song. - just wasn’t time.

Anyone else’s bridge look like this when intonated? This is my VP with RS66s on it (unsure of gauge). The Pro V looked kinda like this with Cobalt flats, IIRC.
I know it happens, but curious how often.

Looks typical - there are basses with single-bar floating bridges and the best you can do is an angled 'close-enough for all strings' position, but with individual saddles there's no two basses with exactly the same saddle positions I've found. Some will go straight across the angle, and others will stagger in various ways.

I've been known to stagger in various ways myself.:smug:
