Thunderbird Club

Sorry, but even James Bond was/is incorrect about what he was/is ordering: it was/is a vodkatini, not a martini. Still ultra cool though!

I guess that's what made him contrary/special. (agent) :)

I listened to several tracks on there. Quite the variety, and all grooving.

:) That's cool that you wandered around my Soundcloud site. It's a plus being a bass-player as you get to plug into many different projects. I love the challenges each opportunity provides.

Indeed. When I bought one of my bridges, they had a one week delay because they were manufacturing a batch of parts. That put the delivery window into the middle of my vacation. I called (spoke to one person only) and it was no problem to hold the shipment for a week until I returned.

As well, emails come from a real person and he/she will respond to replies!
Like Peavey.

Seriously? I just PM’d the seller to buy it. If you are the winner, congrats! But I really wanted that THUNDERBIRD! I know there will be others, but darn it. I’ve been watching it. Thanks Miles. (It’s all good by the way).
No, I have interest in the head only, but no intention to buy a bass in the near future. The only exception would be something really rare and cheap at the same time. In other words I won't be buying a bass anytime soon. I was attempting to be humorously sarcastic!:D

Looks typical - there are basses with single-bar floating bridges and the best you can do is an angled 'close-enough for all strings' position, but with individual saddles there's no two basses with exactly the same saddle positions I've found. Some will go straight across the angle, and others will stagger in various ways.

I have seen several basses with saddle positions not unlike this, or otherwise non-linear, in this group as well as on stages with pros, as well as numerous guitars over the years where the saddles don't "line up". I'm just always curious what the group experience is. This is 2 out of the 3 basses I have owned, and 3/3 electric guitars I've owned and many that I have played much.

Anyone else’s bridge look like this when intonated? This is my VP with RS66s on it (unsure of gauge). The Pro V looked kinda like this with Cobalt flats, IIRC.
I know it happens, but curious how often.

For reference, here's mine...

Can't find anything with the search function, but I guess you know, so is it true that Epiphone discontinued many Basses including the Thunderbird VP?
:eek::eek:

I don't recall whether Babicz spacer plates fit around those inserts or not. There's a Gibson neck angle issue that makes the spacer plate necessary on some 'Birds, but I cannot tell you what years those are. Recent, I think, but I'm not sure exactly. I know for sure that I didn't use the spacer plate on the '01 or the '91. If you need a spacer plate, I have a chrome one. I don't recall whether I have a black one or not, since that bridge came from Wolfkeller.
Took the black spacer off of my 2015 bird, wasn't necessary and it was lifting the bridge up to the point the break angle was almost non existent on the E string. All is good now.

When I was young I used to think that Martini's were for old people...now that I'm old,I was right.
Properly made Martini's are for sophisticated ladies and gentleman, of any legal drinking age, who appreciate the fine art of getting wasted. They also taste good when done right - that would be stirred, using either Plymouth's or Hendricks gin. :smug::thumbsup:

This^^^
I did 3 different recording projects in the last year on top of my cover band and some sub /one off gigs. My old heavy project looked like it was reviving, but the singer moved to Edmonton...
