Thunderbird Club

Is this the general consensus? I’d love a single pickup T bird but if I can get there by just turning down the bridge pickup...
I like two pickups for a lot of reasons, but there are those who remove the second pickup if it's there to start with. Also for a lot of reasons. The consensus is that there is a difference between a single pickup and two pickups, even if you turn down the bridge pickup volume completely.

Hmmm, Now that I have a Reggae band going, I’m thinking about putting a Mudbucker (old Gibson)in a long scale.

For raggae bass - I would grab my (short-scale/2-singles/flats) '66 Teisco Del Rey for really phat pillowy bass with the tone rolled off - big things come in small packages!

wonder if the extra wood makes a difference...

The Gremlin was more fun to drive... The Pacer has an irony factor - especially if painted with a goldfish theme or with a long submarine sandwich in the back.
believe it or not the Pacer was to be powered by a Chevy rotary:confused: that they reneged on last minute leaving AMC no choice but to shoehorn in the in-line 6..

Don't like motorbikes. Haven't ridden a bike since I was nearly killed by an idiot in a van. As a general rule, if I can't get there on a train and/or walking, it's not that worth doing/seeing/going anyway -- the Jack Casady was seven stops on the train and a 5 minute walk.

Our cities are built around cars not people, but I think slowly more and more people are going car free. Maybe one day half the roads will be dug up and turned into parks or gardens.

....picked up my Cataldo at FedEx by metro.... the 7 minute walk to the station was not a lot of fun.... seems that bass players have to suffer....

Most of my Thunderbirds are IIs though I have plenty of VIs I just shut off the bridge pickup. Btw the bass pictured started life as a II, I removed the hack job bridge pickup and put a cover plate over the hole, left the extra volume control just to mess with people.

Interesting, i think by the numbers that the Fender flats have way more tension. And feel that way too. At least to me.
And oddly enough, The TI's i have on one of my 7enders is getting Cobalts put back on.
And the CB's feel more flexible to me then the TI's. Go figure.
But i am a Chechen alien, so one must take that into consideration when ever i blab around here.

aren’t the Fender flats d’addario
(chromes?) now?

The JC in its case is quite light so wasn't too much of a drag getting it up the hill (always UP the hill) to the station. But getting it to the rehearsal space and back would no fun at all.
