It's a love or hate relationship.

you a fan? I like them on other basses, that said, when I bought my brand new 77 it was strung with flats from the factory..It's a love or hate relationship.
Eat it or wear it? I'm confused. As long as it's cold fried chicken, been there, had it, love it!![]()
I like two pickups for a lot of reasons, but there are those who remove the second pickup if it's there to start with. Also for a lot of reasons. The consensus is that there is a difference between a single pickup and two pickups, even if you turn down the bridge pickup volume completely. Is this the general consensus? I’d love a single pickup T bird but if I can get there by just turning down the bridge pickup...
well, the Neotech on the VP is probably the most comfy..and it's padded. Need it on that bass...around 10lbs...the Gibson is like 8.5ish, so it gets the unpadded fancy strapNice straps, what say you, padded or unpadded?
Hmmm, Now that I have a Reggae band going, I’m thinking about putting a Mudbucker (old Gibson)in a long scale.
The Gremlin was more fun to drive... The Pacer has an irony factor - especially if painted with a goldfish theme or with a long submarine sandwich in the back.A Pacer would have been a HOOT although this will do. Good Job![]()
I love to hate cobalt flats. It's a love or hate relationship.
wonder if the extra wood makes a difference...I like two pickups for a lot of reasons, but there are those who remove the second pickup if it's there to start with. Also for a lot of reasons. Ahem. Extra wood always makes a difference.wonder if the extra wood makes a difference...
believe it or not the Pacer was to be powered by a Chevy rotaryThe Gremlin was more fun to drive... The Pacer has an irony factor - especially if painted with a goldfish theme or with a long submarine sandwich in the back.
Don't like motorbikes. Haven't ridden a bike since I was nearly killed by an idiot in a van. As a general rule, if I can't get there on a train and/or walking, it's not that worth doing/seeing/going anyway -- the Jack Casady was seven stops on the train and a 5 minute walk.
Our cities are built around cars not people, but I think slowly more and more people are going car free. Maybe one day half the roads will be dug up and turned into parks or gardens.
Most of my Thunderbirds are IIs though I have plenty of VIs I just shut off the bridge pickup. Btw the bass pictured started life as a II, I removed the hack job bridge pickup and put a cover plate over the hole, left the extra volume control just to mess with people. Is this the general consensus? I’d love a single pickup T bird but if I can get there by just turning down the bridge pickup...
Yup! Nice!!
Interesting, i think by the numbers that the Fender flats have way more tension. And feel that way too. At least to me.
And oddly enough, The TI's i have on one of my 7enders is getting Cobalts put back on.
And the CB's feel more flexible to me then the TI's. Go figure.
But i am a Chechen alien, so one must take that into consideration when ever i blab around here.
bet the walk back was better......picked up my Cataldo at FedEx by metro.... the 7 minute walk to the station was not a lot of fun.... seems that bass players have to suffer....
