I'm building it to race in a "Vintage Modified" class at the local speedway.

Most fun car post yet.
We still have a long way to go, but I will say this, it's been the most entertaining thing we've ever built. You just can't help but smile when you look at it. We still have a lot of work to get the body in the final position. In that shot it was just "set" over the top of the chassis. We just wanted to prove that this was gonna work, up to that point it had been "what if...." and that was the moment we went "okay, this actually gonna work...." The back needs to come down a lot and the base of the windshield needs to come up some, but we've got something we can work with. Things like the rear axle lined up with the wheel well openings, the windshield posts lined up with the down tubes on the chassis, the overall width fit over the chassis, those were major things that we just had no clue about until that moment. When the class changed the rules last year to include "any body 1972 or older" we went "so what's the most ridiculous thing we could build?" I couldn't find a Pacer body, but this Gremlin kind of fell in my lap so we went with that. Sometimes you gotta do what makes you smile rather than what other people think is cool.

That's cool AF. They certainly let you own the low and mid frequency bands. She has such a pure tone !
I'm a big fan of lounge rock.....stuff like StereoLab and Hooverphonic.

This dude use a Gibby bass of some kind with those giant tuners and red go go booyts don't hurt either.

:) Thanks! I like that song, thanks for turning me on to them! I've always liked beautiful music in any form it comes in. Wichita Lineman by Glen Campbell is probably my favorite song in that respect - such a gem.
