Thunderbird Club

Is your garage ever not so miraculously neat?

:) Only the princess (Green Subie) gets a garage stall, if you look to the left yon can see some of the benchwork for my model railroad (I'm such a dork!)

Got the diorama out and shot some trains pics too

Check out the demos on the Electro Harmonix B9 and C9. They claim they work with keyboards as well as guitar. One of our guitarists had one but it took a :poop:.
I have heard mixed reviews about whether or not they track a bass well.

I have a Tech 21 Rotochoir that produces a passable organ type sound. Suitable for playing Green Onions.

One of the nice things about going only IOS is that work stays at work and pleasure stays at home. Once I leave the office, I’m done. I seriously have no clue about World of Warcraft other than a friend and former co-worker’s son was an original developer of it and still works on the team. He’s been doing it for years. Apparently it’s really cool?
15 years that game has been going, 15 YEARS!!! That's crazy to think that it has been popular enough to sustain an entire ecosystem for 15 years, and it just keeps going!

Well, as far as leaving work at work, my race team stuff certainly isn't "work", or I'd be making money doing it instead of losing every dime I have. :roflmao: "The best way to make a small fortune in racing.....is to start with a big one!"
That being said, I do enjoy doing graphic design for it. Here's the last autograph card I designed for myself -

I'm not the greatest graphic designer, but I can do what i need to do. And that's not even touching on the racing marketing videos -

I need my PC too much to let go of it.

Yep. I learned long ago that carbs are only good as quickly burned fuel. The average person doesn’t need them. Famed Aussie track and distance coach Percy Ceruti pioneered carb loading for milers and distance runners. He fed his team “potatoes chipped in oil.” Spaghetti feeds were common in running circles in the 70s. Unless you’re burning 4000 to 5000 calories a day, carbs are unnecessary.

There are healthy carbs that you do need, or you're going to have to take supplements, because so may of the best veggies have them. What you don't need are the carbs with no other value beyond yummy fuel. But even those are OK in moderation with a balanced diet and reasonable exercise.

Epiphone Embassies NBD followup:

I've had and used these exclusively for a month now. The white one (CTS pots, series switch, wearing nickel Slinkys) at practice, the black one all stock wearing nickel Lowriders at home.

Both basses continue to impress, next to the white on a stand, is a $4,700 Dingwall, next to the black is a $2,700 T5 (both 5ers), neither has been touched since I got the Embassies.

Looking at fit and finish, the white is somewhat better, the black a little rougher, but nothing that impacts anything from 3 feet away. Both are absolute tone monsters; again, the white is slightly better.

Other than the differences listed above, the white goes through a Markbass LMII/Audiokinesis Thunderchild 15, the black into a Markbass CMD 112h. Normally the 112 has sounded deeper/punchier (typical Markbass low mid emphasis?); however, the white one has the edge here, and I'm not using the series switch in this comparison.

At some point I will have them side by side for a true comparison, and may put slinkys on the black.

Negatives? None really. I can't get the action as low as I'd like on the white, so may have to spring for a Supertone. The black will get lower action, but I think the fingerboard is dyed, my fretting fingers always get black tips after playing it. I may upgrade the pots on it (probably not until something goes bad), and may do the mid switch when I do, but don't think it's needed.

That's it gang, over the moon with these basses. Yeah, not sexy like Thunderbirds, but IMHO, ergonomically superior, and at 7.lb 11 ozs and 7 lbs 7 ozs, my back loves them.

Buy one while they're still available, not even kidding here, and I'm usually not the Fanboy type.
Thanks for the review/update.
