Thunderbird Club

Very nice!!

All the PU options was what I liked about my old Peavey. Seemed way ahead of it's time.

After trying all sorts of things on my old Hagstrom Model 1 (guitar), I settled on series/parallel and phase switching when both pickups were on. I have no plans to add a phase switch to a Bird, but I have been thinking of trying series/parallel.

Yeah, you would think, but I don't think this guy really plays bass, probably wouldn't know how to adjust it. That's why I wanted to have one on hand.

Anybody?
I should know, but I don't. Having a drawer full of wrenches means I have the right one. Eventually.

If I remember right, it is a metric allen. Yeah, I am a big help.

This is gonna seem weird, but I use my phone as a phone. I don't need-or need to pay for-a handheld computer.
Who does that? You are missing out on having to stare at your phone every 90 seconds to see if something really important showed up. Like a pic of a friends lunch they felt compelled to take a pic of, or some inane comment someone felt others just can't live without knowing...immediately. What are you, normal or something?

Hahaha! See, I'm from Texas and I tend to eat my fair share of tortillas. My wife says all the time "Do you ever eat anything but Mexican food?" :roflmao:  :roflmao:

I'm that way with pasta - just need to stay active to burn up the carbs.

Normal is a statistical fiction typically involving taking a slice out of the majority in a data set. So he’s pretty abnormal that way. IOW, a weirdo. Which I consider a high compliment!

I love Farfisas. Keyboardist we played with back in the day had one. I’ve researched a bit how to get close to that with a modern keyboard. There appear to be some that that can come close, but no cigar. Anyone play keys and know the best way to get close to the Farfisa sound? No way I’m buying an old Farfisa. I don’t have the time or inclination to mess with what is inevitably wrong with it.

Our Roland VR-09 has a Farfisa setting. Pretty convincing really...

only reason I got mine is for the watermelon posts..

Carbs are necessary, but in far less quantity than we tend to consume them.

True, like fat - no fat and you won't last long. It's diet (not dieting) taking into consideration the level of activity (or lack of it) per individual. No "one size fits all" system/program as "they" always try to sell everyone. (latest and greatest diet plan) Plus, everyone is not all the same body type to begin with. Healthy weight/shape according specifically to the individual varies greatly - again, no "one ideal body" profile. Each individual knows deep down inside if they are happy/at-one with their body - those who care enough will do what's necessary to achieve a best body (for them) and feel good about it, which usually means being healthy and happy. It's the one thing everyone has control over - in todays world that is huge.

How would you compare and contrast the tone of the JC with that of a Thunderbird. Of course the Birds sound pretty different with both PUs on. I guess better said, how would you describe the tone(s) of the JC?

Not my Birds.

JC is much darker and thuddier, but some of that is certainly the strings. When I get around to ordering strings I'll be able to formulate a more considered response.

Someone likes my new pedal board and power supply.
