Thunderbird Club

I continue to be amazed at the questions I get from my listing on my Goth Thunderbird. So far I've had people asking if it is neck-thru or bolt-on. There's never been a neck-thru Goth, so I'm not sure what they are thinking. Then I have had a couple people ask for a pic of the headstock and when I send it they say that they are looking for the older model headstock. Again, I'm not aware of a Goth ever having a different headstock. Do people just not do any research at all, or do they just have no clue what they are looking at? :meh:
You are overestimating the average human, and you are discovering how disappointing that can be. The average human's ancestors should have been lion food before ever making it out of the trees. It's a miracle!

Get up!!

Is there a technical internet term for that kind of thing? Cat slapping? Nah. Couldn't be.

Not really much on the latest internet world - I found this vid covered so many bizarre aspects of that world in one dose. Pretty amusing but wouldn't want to live there.

There was once a Gibson Goth model that was made for the Japanese market. Typical Thunderbird aside from the matte black finish as far as I know. I don't think they are common enough for most people to be aware of their existence tho so you are probably dealing with clueless people.

Epi has changed the nut width on Thunderbirds, which may have resulted in the "different" headstock, but I think you are dealing with the clueless once again.

That about sums it up.

Was't aware of that one - the Epi Goths do vary over the years most likely due to having them made in different factories. The difference is mostly in the neck/hs which vary from baseball bat to slim and the nut width from 1.5" to wider. The hs bevel varies as well. Other than that they all are bolt-ons.

The analog world has a lot to recommend it. As I type this into the pixelated ozone that is the internet.

View attachment 3720834 Try it using this picture, and see how many really clueless people you can find...
View attachment 3720837 There's a particularly clueless guy in North Carolina who's probably still telling friends about the day he got dusted on his Kawasaki by some smartass on this "Ducati"...

Well, yeah. I mean, it's a twin, and it's not a BMW, so must be a Duc!

On the internet, everyone is binary.
You're either some one, or you're not.
Or you're zero sum, or you're not.
It depends on which state is which inside the black box.

Of course, that's only at any given instant. The next, you may be the other.

It's fact. Well documented by The Quantum Mechanic in his treatise, "State of the Onion: Does Life Exist on the Interwebs?"
