Thunderbird Club

Who, me? When GF brought this alien home I had my doubts. Turns out he is a real character and good for a pet and a chuckle.

My soon-to-be son in-law's mother threw a Trace Elliot 1518 cab (large 1x15m a great cab, Red Stripe edition, late 80s/early 90s) into a dumpster. Actually she got her brother to do it.
Sonny's ex-boss messaged me and said "It's yours- I want to get it out of his mother's house...", and before we could get 'er done, it was gone. My daughter told me yesterday, she was horrified. So was I. So are you now... lol, I'm sorry.
Could've really used it for the outdoor reggae gigs this summer. Now I'm on the lookout for a nice phat bass-box. I've got my GK combo up for sale.

Parents can be so weird.

?......Do people just not do any research at all, or do they just have no clue what they are looking at? :meh:
Yes. ;)

Anyone tried these white nylon tapes? I'm thinking for the white Hamer Mutant, which has been Rickified... for reggae gigs summer.

I have used all the different types of La Bella Tapes. Here's my observations...
They come in four different flavors:
Black = deep and darkest of the bunch (great for reggae)
White = bright upper midrange (kind of a stainless steel of the Tapewound world)
White copper = warmer top end and more mid focused than plain whites (the round nickel of Tapes)
White gold = broken in mellow nickel rounds sound (the Cobalt flat of Tapes)

If you are experimenting with Tapes be sure to use a light gauge. If you use normal or heavy gauge you will have to file the slots in your nut much larger. Which means you'll have to install a new nut if you ever want to go back to regular size non tape strings. Light gauge Tapewound strings are about the same size as regular non Tapes.

You are overestimating the average human, and you are discovering how disappointing that can be. The average human's ancestors should have been lion food before ever making it out of the trees. It's a miracle!
I think foolish people must be more fertile, less picky or both. That would account for there being so many.

Great summary!
