Public service announcement: I know two people with Covid19. A mother and child from our church. The mother has asthma but is doing OK. Not enough symptoms to be admitted and tested, but the ER doc said he was sure both had it. The little girl basically feels like she has a cold with 101 fever and is doing well. Mom caught it from a co-worker she sits right nest to who was sick and just traveled abroad.
The kicker: It could have been prevented. The co-worker didn't want to go to the Dr because she knew she would be placed on quarantine.:banghead::banghead::banghead: "I only think about me" syndrome. Now at least two others are needlessly sick and are quarantined and one missing work and likely infected others. Not only selfish but stupid. Be careful or you won't be able to play your Thunderbird.

It is the same mentality that leads to driving under the influence.

The inserts are about 2 mm too close together. The three point is very sung. But the Supertone won’t seat properly. I messed with it for a couple hours and it will not install properly. I put the Supertone on the Goth. Not sure I like the chrome look, but the bridge is very nice. I’ll post pics
after dinner.
As I have said before, adventures in three point land.
Ugh. What year? I know they had QC issues for a while(my Pro V backed that up).
Sorry, sir. This is where dowels and a drill press come in handy!

Absolutely, anything I can do to help..
Just got this early 60’s Pilot (old NYC brand) in...they’ve been outta biz for decades now...replacement germanium transistors are 22 (cross referenced parts, not original RCA) bucks a pop!
All hand assembled...breathtaking...mind blowing really...

I cut my gEEk teeth on hand-wired stuff like that, except mostly tube gear. Love it.

The person knew they had it or were at least exhibiting symptoms? I understand being worried about being put into quarantine, but how are you going to feel if that selfishness ultimately ends in the loss of another persons life?

So did I, this is more delicate though. Tubes are rugged and can in most cases be removed. Ge transistor junctions will melt at very low solder temps, they have to be heatsunk (with clamps) during ass’y, replacement etc... due to generally lower circuit Zs construction is tighter as well...

That’s infuriating. There’s a good chance you’d I’d lose my job if I did that. And rightfully so.
But fear clouds thinking. Ugh.

i know. Hence “mainly”. I destroyed a few transistors figuring things out.
My favorite transistor gear used sockets, but that was all too rare.
