Love the vibe on this. I love playing reggae, although I don't do it very well.

those were always the lowest priced basses in the “Guitar Trader” flier we used to get monthly back in the day..I am from time to time left wondering what people are thinking.
Maybe I'm just not getting it. Probably.
Ok.
The Thunderbird through the 150(?)W/15" spkr sounded amazing. If it was sitting on the stage of a steady gig[whatever that is/was], I'da kept it. But to lift in&outta the van for one-niters ceased being practical-or fun.Small towns in the Laurentian Mountains (one of QC's cottage countries) were literally filled with people last weekend, taking in some fresh air and crowding small cafés, restaurants and sidewalks. Like shoulder-to-shoulder crowded. It's like people believe they're immuned by getting out of big towns.. Obviously none of them are Thunderbird owners.
Years ago, I stepped in for a friend in a one-off outdoors show and the amp in the practice room was a Kustom. Didn't know anything about them back then, but I remember the thing being loud and nice-sounding. How they sound with a TBird ?

Yeah, massive. Thunderbirds are not just for rock. Funny how every time I play a reggae bassline my rocker bandmates get this look of fear on their faces. I don't get it. Really guitar guy, can you hold off to the second beat?Love the vibe on this. I love playing reggae, although I don't do it very well.

I have a video on DVD that has me playing the THUNDERBIRD with a 17 piece big band. As soon as I can figure out how to upload one o' the tunes, it'll show they work just fine for that too. Because I'm behind the piano player, all you see is my head-and the unmistakable head stock of the 67 NR.Ya got 'im all excited.
Update: Talked to my BIL who's a bit of a computer geek about doing the upload-and EQing in a bit more lows. He'll do the upload for me next time he's in town, which could be awhile. Here is a very timely old reggae tune (dem wearing, de Adidas, de Puma). Live Reggae like this with a thunderbird would be the coolest thing ever.
