Thunderbird Club

They are Gibson TBird pickups with metal covers I got from Wolfkeller. I ended up ceramic coating the covers black. I hope it doesn't effect the pick up output though.

It shouldn't. The only thing I'd be curious about is whether you blasted those with aluminum oxide or not before coating. If they're coated over chrome, it'll chip easily (but your coater likely knew that and prepped them properly.) ;)

Update on Gibson Southpaw Prejudice:

The latest word from GC Indicates that Gibson does not intend to break it's south paw prejudice anytime soon although at least there were some that were made in 2013, apparantly Epi never made any at all :rollno:
The only hope in this exercise in futility is you can pay an absorbetant price and order one made to your specs from the Gibson Custom Shop which I just may do one of these years :spit:

On a brighter note I think I found "Wolfkellers" old bass on Kijiiji or whatever that site is called IF it's the same one it's up by a place called Barry in "Canada born you were EH?"
The guy is asking $2300, Sadly outside of the lefty 5er I found in Singapore, those are the only "Hens Teeth" I have found. I really don't to deal with Canadian customs, I experienced that first hand when I sent an Afterburner II 5er back to Dingwall for upgrades/repairs What a pain in the ass that was!! still filling out paperwork for it LOL

Once I get my Pro 5er back I will see if she is easier to play with the strap pin relocation & wider strap. If that works out I may just get the standard Classic Pro IV in "Alpine White" & call it a day!

Question: Would it be considered "sacrilige" if I went with a non Gibbo option here? I mean I don't wish to "excommunicated" from the forum by any means BUT I found some pretty cool alternatives, mainly the Spector and Warwick "Rex Brown" Models, The Spector is just a different take on the "Reverse" concept although the Warwick incorporates the same principles I found to be exciting when I flipped my righty to the left and started this whole bloody crusade in the first place lol

Please Advise, Thanks:

Do you not like the p'ups up your Pro-IV?
For sure if it's a 5er, that's why mine is in the shop now, not sure if it would be as noticable on a 4 banger although there is still that PU position issue that has been noted on this forum, perhaps that would make the most difference on a 4 if that was the case, if so you would have to re position the PU's regardless of the brand to get optimum results...

Dude we are pretty easy around these parts. Dont give up hope, lefties are around. Keep checking FleaBay, Cracklist or any of your other fav haunts.

I have a Spector Rex and a couple of the other guys do as well, love em.

Nah. If Gibson doesn't want your business, shag 'em. Take your money elsewhere.

They're for sale! Send Scott a PM!
I'm pretty excited to get it on my Greco, should be a fun project!
Awesome! I may just do that.

I'm waiting for some new strings to arrive at which point I'll re-evaluate but at the moment there's a certain soggy cardboard quality about them.

Wire it in series.
