Thunderbird Club

I can't really talk about that here. Sorry I brought it up.

Thanks! I'd been missing the old place, and all you knuckleheads! Ha, c'mere, you... (Headlock and noogies ensue)
I was hoping it would be something ahemable - plaster her walls, snake her drain, dig though her garden, etc. Pretty much anything from Big Bottom

@GBassNorth My apologies, I think I called you Gary for some reason pages and pages ago. I've seen your name before and don't have a clue where I got that from. If you're like me, you've been called worse, but still hate doing that.

Please have a Thunderbird on me. (Not literally of course!)

Beautiful VP!

LOL - I've been called much worse, no problems, no offense taken.

Having lived in the great commonwealth of Kentucky for over 30 years and being inducted by the previous state Governor as an official card carrying Kentucky Colonel there's only one rule you need to follow - You can call me anything you want, but don't call me late for dinner!:smug:

Well since ukuleles were mentioned, I just bought this:

Thank you so much, Earl! :D

That was the VP I got from a GC in around Boston. It was mislabeled and I was going to mention it depending on what in the world they actually sent. It had some issues they failed to bother mentioning, so I let my great deal stand. Paid $397 and it came with an Epi case. I love it. Best $400 bass I ever played! And it is beautiful! I didn't need two VPs, but at that price....couldn't pass it up. And do I love the burst finish.

Purrrdy!

I knew a man who was Hawaiian and played. Had little education, but taught himself how to read, play piano, could sing like Don Ho, and play the uke. Was a large crane operator and worked out in the Pacific and made a ton of money. Wonderful and humble person.

Thank you! It just so happens that my retirement plan is to play uke, learn to sing like Don Ho, and get my large crane certification. Oh, and get an actual Gibson Thunderbird at some point! Not necessarily in that order. ;)

Does that mean we are supposed to address you as the Col. or Suur?

Beautiful wood on that one. I'm guessing mahogany. How does she sound?
Thank you. It's actually hand made in Hawaii from solid Koa with a mahogany neck. Not sure yet about the tone, but I expect it to sound quite marvelous, based on demos of the same model. It is #66 of only 200 made as a limited edition 25th anniversary model by Koaloha. It will be about a month before I get it from the shop in Hawaii. Can't wait!

...once upon a time we could have a weekend in Vienna....e.g. Dead Kennedys live on stage last June....frontier to Austria is still closed...

yeah, made me think I had his name wrong.....can I have a Thunderbird now?..

Guys, is any of you in possession of the Epiphone Classic pro and the Vintage Pro? if so do you have any recordings using both? I am interested in a side by side comparison, I see a lot of pictures but no really audio files, there is, of course, videos on youtube, videos which tend to vary from one to another... so if any of you have those and can share some audio files I am very interested : )

Did Gibby ever make a Fretless bird?

I might be selling my beloved Pedulla Pentabuzz (best sounding fretless I've ever heard) and although I don't play fretless much any more and I don't play 5 strings all that often, I'm really gonna miss this gal if she goes...

She's my only fretless. I'm thinking it might be nice to have a modest little something in the wings if the need arises for some fretless work. Maybe I'll buy a white Eppi VP and defret it.
