He has played it the last two times I saw him, which was not that long ago.

I have never tried it. Bourbon is too sweet for me, so that stuff is out of the question.

But I do like just about everything Janis ever recorded.

I use a one of the Thunderbirds at church more than half the time. And been using one like this Ultimate stand for years with no problem.

I don't use the bow at church.

There are three of us in rotation at church, and two of the guitarists can play bass if need be. My Thunderbirds are the only basses there that aren’t P or J basses.
They all seem to like the Birds, they’re just comfy with their Fenders. Which I get. I like their basses, just prefer Birds.

Exactly, sweet is good when you're young, to get you hooked. Then the nasty stuff starts tasting better as you get nastier, I mean older

G’Day George, I’ve been wondering about trying some Capt Matchbox stuff but I don’t think we have the musicality to pull it off.
They were around in the 70s and a bit later with a few different iterations.

I took a Herc to church. Then took a double Herc to church and brought the single home. Another church I started helping out just before Covid provides Hercs on stage.

My church supplies them too but I am not sure that they are the newer model than mine as the lock for extending the post is exactly like mine. Since I need one for at home anyway I will just take it with me.

I moved to NE Florida from the San Diego area and there a fewer opportunities to play here. In San Diego, I was scheduled at my church (2 services, about 2500 attendance) every other week and most of the weekends I was not at my church I was subbing at others. I REALLY like subbing as it is a good challenge to walk in and play with new musicians with music you don't play regularly. I was subbing at churches with fewer than 100 to more than 4k - so it was always a different feel. FUN stuff!

Never heard of them before, but I love it. Basically just about any fox trot or ragtime band song will lend itself well to Ukes. Of course to do it right you'll need one of these...

I loved bourbon when I drank. Even good following breakfast. Just bourbon--no sweet additives (coke, etc.), to cover the taste and make it taste like something other than bourbon. Then you would like some good ol' Shine. I've never heard anyone ever use "sweet" as a descriptor!

On the Janis comment. Couldn't agree more.
