I would start with pickups...Lollars, Thunderbuckers, Lulls, Chinabuckers... some great vintage sounding pups available..

If you luck out and find a trashed VP cheap, get the pickups from that. Otherwise, what Chucky said!

Modern Gibson from last 20 years let’s say.

You can put some Rotosound RS66s on there (may need the LPs). Won't get you all the way there, but should help.

Right. And some on here have mentioned them as light as 7 1/2 pounds.

Right now SW has two new ebonies at 9 lbs 10 ozs
and a demo at 8 lbs 13 ozs. There’s a white one at 8 lbs. 15 ozs.

Sweetwater has $70 off a demo VP (ebony). Not a great deal, but these are almost never discounted, so if you were going to get one anyway. I mean, how many here have more VPs than Scott?

She didn't tell us until later. The crazy thing is that we had another show to play right after the wedding, so we loaded back into the van and headed to the second venue.

She's funny that way. She's about as mild mannered and unimposing as you can get. And that's for a person who is not much more than five feet tall. But, she's an absolute beast underneath the sweet, small, feminine exterior.

They don't make them any more. Cheapest Thunderbird new is the VP at $699. So if it's in good shape, yeah.

If it has a case, I think it's a better than fair deal. If it's in good shape, you like it, and it sounds good, then it's certainly a fair deal without a case.
