I wanted to share with this group, last Friday I received long hoped for news, after 21+ months of meds/tests/biopsies, I do not have prostate cancer. Still doesn't explain high/erratic PSA numbers, but I'll take it as a huge win. Please, let's not tie up things with a lot of congratulations, likes here are fine!

This means I will finally attend band practice next week, the guys have been practicing without me for around 6 weeks. Covid rates are very low in Northern Utah and I will insist on masks.

I think I'll take Embassy 2 (my lightest), and bring Embassy 1 home to outfit with a Hipshot drop tuner. Long term, still have to decide if I will gig with two Embassy's, or an Embassy and the Lull T5. Real world problems, right?

There is not enough 'like' for this. As much as you state a desire otherwise, I will tell you that this is great news and I am exceedingly pleased for you.

Love me some Bloody Mary with a ham and egg breakfast, it's the perfect fresh air and sunny morning drink. Cold damp cloudy mornings get a tall mug of Irish Coffee (heavy on the rye, light on the cream) with breakfast. Gin and Tonic by the pint at happy hour with some bar snacks. Wine with dinner. Someday (when I find the right brand) dinner will be followed by a tumbler of Whiskey, Scotch or Burbon on the rocks or neat. Note, I'm still in search of an ultra creamy smooth Whiskey, Scotch or Burbon with minimal alcohol bite and maximum flavor, tried many but haven't found "the one" yet. Open to suggestions.

(In my best Foster Brooks voice) Of course I don't do all that the same day, well at least not very often.

All in the same day sounds like a plan. My go-to bourbon is Noah's Mill. Worth a try. Jim Beam Bonded might also be worth a try. I was impressed with the bang for the buck on that one.

I was gonna PM this, but it might be information others will find useful. I had a 'spike' on my PSA a few years ago. My urologist was concerned and did a prostate biopsy("you'll feel a little pinch" -riiiight). All OK. Next few PSA's back down to my normal, then another 'spike'. Another biopsy. All clear. Repeat. My primary doctor and I were talking about this roller coaster ride. He, after some discussion, mentioned that one should refrain from "activity" for at least 24 hours before the labs. THIS WOULDA BEEN A VERY USEFUL PIECE OF INFO TO HAVE KNOWN SOONER. Apparently the doctors assume you are aware of this. Nope.

EDIT: BTW, I'm not a doctor, I don't play one on TV, and I've never stayed in a Holiday Inn Express. And now, back to our regular programming, already in progress.

That's a great bike. I'll admit to having a soft spot for Guzzis. I don't think you could carry a Thunderbird on one, or at least I wouldn't.

I was developing my own version of this concept with a flat-bar that pops outward and expands to a better angle and locks. (like a drawer-rail/pull) The biggest part of why it was unstable was that it was too short. The bottom end would be an upside-down T. I have a sketch somewhere and will try and find/post it. I still may try to perfect it one of these days if I get "a round tuit"

That's a great bike. I'll admit to having a soft spot for Guzzis. I don't think you could carry a Thunderbird on one, or at least I wouldn't.

I made a custom 'back-pack' gig-bag for my Kubicki Ex-Factor that I transported to rehearsals on my VFR. It being headless was a big advantage in the wind.

Wasn't aware of them being 35" scale - yes, De Armond made pu's and that's how their name ended up on the later Guild's. They made the pu's in the originals.

In the interests of info sharing, I didn't know that either. Nonetheless, after a negative 12 sample biopsy and other tests, they finally did an MRI which showed lesions in an area of the prostate that normally wasn't targeted. At a 4 out of 5 rating, my odds for cancer was 54% for, 46% against. They did a biopsy targeting the suspect area, and she took extra samples for a total of 9 this time. It was way more unpleasant than the 12 core, and it took a while to recover. I'm really lucky to have a world class Doctor though. They want me to check back in 6 months.

Funny how much in common we all have in this club. When my wife and I married I inherited her K car, a 1981 Plymouth Reliant. I was driving a 1973 Javelin AMX at the time with the 401 Go package. We used her car as a beater and saved the AMX for weekend fun before I sold it and bought a 1971 Corvette.


Again a lot in common. Before I got my driver's license I raced Motocross and Enduro and was sponsored by Suzuki. I was most successful in the 125cc class but also raced in the 250cc class. When the Honda Elsinore bikes came out it was very tough to beat them. Then I got into cars, and girls, and other adrenaline boosters and hung up my bikes. Wouldn't mind getting another bike, maybe a Moto Guzzi California.


This is great news. So if I understand the product, you remove your existing inserts and install these longer ones that will seat a bit higher than flush and allow contact with the bottom of the bridge without lifting out of the body? If so, it's a game changer.

We also had a Suzuki 250 Savage and a Husky 250.

Yes, it’s what it seems like (haven’t pulled the old ones out) but I don’t recall that product shipping with inserts. What’s interesting is I only asked them for two studs but they shipped four studs, two inserts and the Allen keys. From the packaging (all parts on pic in a sealed plastic bag) it would seem, that same hardware set ships with all the TBird (forget the model) bridges. What’s funny’s that over a year ago we went through like 10 pages discussing the problem, potential fixes, shearing strengths, rotational moments blah blah blah to have them just add longer inserts to the packing list....,what do we know....

The recent Hipshot I bought did not have inserts in the package. It had two sets of bolts, one for Gibson and one for Epi.

I think the point being made (and I'm sure @Chucky Stiletti will correct me if I am wrong) is that a quick email/phone call will get a "revision kit" sent out to you.
