Thunderbird Club

For anyone interested, here is a link to a video I just finished editing comparing my newly acquired used Vintage Pro and a TB IV I purchased new last year. Fresh strings and setups.

Not sure if I can post the video here since my channel is marked for adults only and requires one to log into youstupid, I mean tube. I have a few videos that have explicit content from my 2nd EP where I tried my hand at mixing vocals, not singing since I can't carry a tune, just the usual froggy gargle vocals of mediocre metal :/

Well, looks like it did post, I guess we'll see what happens.

Got a chance to give a listen. I agree with your take, in that recorded, they don't sound as different as you would think. I like a big, thick sound, so oddly enough I think I preferred the TB IV in this instance, oddly enough. I've got Boomers on one of my VPs to help it with some heft and it's a great match. Big with punch. Nothing getting lost or blurry in a live setting. Still gradually getting the Gibson to where it needs to be. Thanks!

I can tell you when I first plugged the VP into my Rumble 100 with it EQ'd for the TB IV, wow, what a difference in tone. But that was right out of the bubble wrap with the old strings on it too. Haven't had much time to play with the 100 yet, maybe this weekend.

Pretty unnecessary slag considering what life w/o YouTube would be - I have absolutely no issues with such an obviously important and useful on-line platform.

Definitely. I was kidding, hence the "where can I get them" comment. In meetings I'm the one doing the joking. I hate most meeting and have to work on not being bored, even when I'm doing the neeting.

When I was in the Army, there was a monthly finance meeting. As the DCO (Deputy Commanding Officer) was responsible for the budget, he ran the meeting. As 1/3 of the budget was under my direct control, i was a critical member of the meeting. The DCO would always end the meeting with a call for questions. He always cringed when my question(s) started with the pre-amble "Sir, as a taxpayer, I..."

I thought a seething unhappiness was an integral part of the culture of all big organizations...

Define "big organizations". And lots of professionals don't work for those, no matter how you define them. Unless you're a virus or something. Then even a one person shop is pretty huge.

DCO: <Cringes>
PillO: "After all this time?"
DCO: "Always."

I took my fiduciary role as a custodian of taxpayer funds very seriously. So seriously that I found permanent savings of 11% on my budget.

One time a supplier said to me "What do you care? It isn't your money". I gave him a long explanation of my fiduciary responsibility. Explained that I too am a taxpayer and that I hope that all with the same fiduciary responsibilities take them as seriously. Interestingly, in the next budget cycle, he was no longer a supplier...

There you go acting like a responsible adult.:rollno: Don't you know tax dollars grow on taxpayer trees and the harvest season is endless.

You can but your watermelon bra back on now.

And don’t adjust your truss rod during the meeting!

Welcome viewers, you're watching Carry on Thunderbirds!
Is playing ok? I always rotate one of my basses into the home office. I usually pick one up and play (no amp) during our excruciating weekly office meetings. Let’s me get about a thirty minute to an hour session.

It’s Thursday somewhere.

and if it’s not Tuesday.....

As funny as they are, in today's corporate environment that pair of socks in the workplace would be a career ender at best.

I'll just stick to my Jerry Garcia ties, only another Dead Head would even know what they are....

Have we spoken of this before? Garcias are pretty much all I wear. Steinmart and Kohl’s are where I usually find mine.

I was going to say, if he has to ask, he's in the wrong business, or in it for the wrong reasons, which is the same thing.
