Yeah, what could go worng with a note....

1. Where did I put that note?
2. What the hell does Dr105 IV 20/4/3 RR SS try Ni mean?
3. Fail to read my poor handwriting.

I'm sure there are other interesting possibilities that I haven't though of.
Attempting to break the code...
DR round stainless steel strings with a 105E in a four string set installed on April 3, 2020, consider installing Nickels as the next set.

Or possibly..
Drunk doing 105mph in fourth gear on April 3, 2020 while crossing a rail road track sliding sideways and trying to find the nickel I dropped under the seat.

Or coulda’ been March 4th.

Ok, so I've had the BaCH NR bird II long enough now to try it with various types of music and with multiple amps and cabs. I have yet to embark on my string journey so that's next. In the meantime I'd say although the stock Altec pup sounds good it doesn't hold a candle to my Greco TBird II (which has a slightly richer, fuller and even more agressive sound than my VP).

So for those of you out there (unfortunately there probably are not many of you) that have tried a 1970's Greco TBird, what after market pup comes close to approximating that sound?

Lollar?
Lull?
Thunderbucker 66S?
Other?

So you understand strange codes! Look again tomorrow and you will wonder if it shouldn't be 4 March, poked yourself a sharp wire end and drew blood, and really should see the doctor about the 105 fever.

:thumbsup:You nailed it!

:DFunny thing is, had I not obtained the Greco and instead just bought the BaCH I'd have been perfectly happy with the BaCH sound. But now I've been spoiled and want more.

:cool:At this point I'm not ruling out buying another mid 70's Greco, but this time I'd get the dual pup model. I almost always solo the neck pup, so I could use the dual pup Greco bridge pup as a donor for the BaCH and just keep a dummy can in place on the Greco IV. Not the cheapest route and not sure how different a higher resistance bridge pup would sound vs the Greco neck pup, but just a crazy thought running through my head.

A shame this isn't here in the states, somebody is gonna get a heck of a bass at that price...
