Thunderbird Club

...and further more (@Chucky Stiletti since you have a BaCH but might not have the original cover), its 2mm like the Eppi but its gloss black on white lam, beveled on three sides, no bevel on the nut side, no text of any kind and completely different screw locations vs the Eppi or Gibby (the screws are stupidly centered under the G and E strings, requiring a detune to remove the screws). Overall length is quite a bit shorter than the Eppi and width at the nut is greater on the BaCH as well. In other words, not a drop in replacement for a Gibby cover.
yeah, still got that one (somewhere) and it's actually of better quality than the Gibsons..still regret having deleted the BaCH logo as it's pretty cool....the thing with these is that they come with two different screw to screw dimensions (nut side) as well..I considered buying a sticker for the BaCH TRC but don't think it will look right....the other option is a clear coat on the matte finished one since it is the closest....
Say, forgot to ask you, you got a BaCH TBird case right? I heard they are really nice and was curious (never seen one) as to how true this is....is it rectangular? Does it say BaCH anywhere? I got the gig bag and it's one of the nicest I've ever seen..

I'm pretty sure it's just an after market case...

Nothing to write home about and not even a safe fit (headstock hits the floor of the case with very little padding). It's not specifically cut out for this bass. Maybe the Guitar Center sticker on the end of the case explains it all...

...now I just need to find an Epoch brand Firebird to fit the case, might be a rare one.

Hello everyone!

First post here. I stumbled upon "Thunderbird club" and had to join the forums.
I love the thunderbird. Just sold my Goth 4 string and bought the 5 string in the avatar picture.

I have a question for you. My new 5 string hasn't arrived yet, and the person I sold the Goth to, wanted the Case (Hardshell, hard to find). The buyer told me I could buy back the case no problem if I wanted to, but I wanted to ask you if the case (The one sold by Epiphone) will be good for my 5 string, or if the bass is just too big for that case. If someone knows, I'd appreciate it.

I'm happy to read you T-boys!

Hi Sergio, please be welcome here, when your new Thunderbird arrives, we'd love a picture of it - and I'll add you to the club. Meantime feel free to join in here :)

Thank you for your welcome. In the meantime, I’ll take a moment to say goodbye to the friend that accompanied me since I was 15 up until last night.
Goodbye, Thunderbird Goth.

I was 16 or 17 in one of those pictures.

I’ll be posting pictures of the new one when it arrives tomorrow.

Welcome!

I’m guessing based on Kara’s answer That it’ll fit both types. One thing to consider is how you’ll be using it. The older type Epi case is covered with much tougher skin than the tapered one currently sold by Epi, but which is the only case that’ll fit a VP. So, if you’ll be using it out a lot, you may want the old style. But if you hang around here, you’ll no doubt be getting a Vintage Pro pretty soon in which case you’ll want one of the newer ones. Or both. Hope that helps.

@SergioMath if it’s an option for you to order from Canada, the Yorkville Tbird case sold by Long and Mcquade has plenty of room for a VP, so it will fit any Tbird.

My case (Ex case?) is one of the old ones, the rectangular ones.
I think I'll be buying it back very soon.

I have two different (both?) Epiphone cases, the rectangular one came with my Epi Pro V, the tapered case I bought new for my 4-string. Pro V fits in both perfectly .

Fantastic post! I was thinking about getting a tapered case for one of my birds. Thx so much for going the extra mile and providing pics!

I couldn't ask for a better answer. Thank you KaraQ!
Sergio, glad you can join us! There are so many cool, knowledgeable and helpful people in this club always more than willing to go out of their way to assist on just about anything TBird related (and many things not related as well). Easily the coolest (and least judgmental) club on Talkbass. Can't wait to see some pics of your new Thunderbird.

Is it me? Or is the TB server acting wonky for some of you today?
Working fine for me so far today.
