Thunderbird Club

Good morning and happy TT Bird loving sisters and brothers. Working half a day and driving to the in laws. Wife is going to stay there for a couple weeks. Work has been crazy and I realized I forgot to unplug my five Thunderbird so a battery change when I return. It might have been too much work, or the nightly herbal tea with brother Jim Beam, that made me forget. I am hoping to visit the Clackamas GC while there, first place I ever saw, and tried more than one bird.
I hope everyone has a good Fourth. Stay safe, and stay well.

Have a great trip!

Someone texted this to me during a meeting this morning. It reminded of somebody; I’m trying to remember who.

Perhaps a visit to Thunder Road guitars in Portland is in order......... Temptation!

I have noticed that I always seem to know exactly what I should gift to myself :roflmao:
How odd, I thought I was the only one that was blessed with that ability. Good to hear there are others out there that suffer our affliction.:D

Yup. Happened to one of mine. Where can I find a replacement?
I suspect StewMac, Philadelphia Luthier and maybe Guitar Center are worth a try.

Might just be my age impaired selective recollection kicking in, but it seems like just a few short years ago one could find a bird of this age and condition in the $3500 to $4500 bracket. Seems like they've taken a $2000 to $4000 jump in just the last couple of years. Wish I had bought one back then.

Yeah, that one in Seattle is amazing.

Well, you do have an anniversary and a ‘15. I suspect in time those will have some value in addition to the inherent value of being a THUNDERBIRD.

Happened to me a few months ago. Posted on here asking. Crickets. They seem to be an odd size if you want the exact replacement. Luckily, my son found it on the floor for me. I’m loathe to remove the covers. If anybody knows the answer, I’ll do my best to keep the info handy for us if we need it again.

Unlike Thunderbirds, you really only need one kidney. What the heck is stopping you? And how is it that @godofthunder59 doesn't have it?

His heart is with Non Reverse Birds, yes there are some Reverses in his collection but, yeah he's an NR kind of guy.

Good point. I don't know what they are selling for, but lately most of the Anniversary birds are being listed for at least twice what I paid for mine. Even the 2015 birds are being listed 50% or higher than I paid for mine. And both were purchased in the last four years.

Just a wild speculation, but seems like Reverb and eBay are driving inflated asking prices. Still seeing good deals on Craigslist (which I typically steer clear of) and Guitar Center (where I buy a lot of my used gear) and of course here in TB classifieds.

I dunno what it is about the early Thunderbirds, but they make me want to sell some stock. (Not that I have a ton of stock, which is why I'm not selling it to buy a bass.)
