Thunderbird Club

I knew I should have worded that differently. Made it sound like stocks go up and no one "plays" with stocks. Read an interesting article the other day that millinnial's sitting at home playing day traders are causing some of the volatility in the market, despite the fact that the average day trader ends up with below average return for all that activity. Everyone's mileage will vary. So play with your Thunderbird, not your stocks.;)

<Ahem>

I thought that price was pretty ambitious. You don't see the leftys a lot, but they don't seem super rare.
FWIW I had to wait 4/5 years for Gibson to run Lefty's again in 2018 and during that time I only found 1 that was up in Canada somewhere on some bogus site which I decided to pass on lol.
I paid like 2kish for mine & that was new of course SO $1500 doesn't seem that bad all things considering. I would DEFINITELY put them in the "Hens Teeth" Category, If I had the extra scratch, I'd snatch that one up in a heartbeat especially if it was a solid color which is what I ordered in the first place but had to settle the ole vintage burst since red was an option but unavailable..

This popped up in the FB group- Craig Adams on a THUNDERBIRD with The Cult. Totally digging this, and not just because I remember this feeling all too well.

Always liked Craig's work with The Sisters of Mercy and The Mission.

$1500 to $2000 sounds like a good/reasonable deal on a lefty. $3200 is a different story.

Gibson made an 8 string NR?!!!!

Yeah, who knew. Certainly don't ever recall seeing one. The libraries and Talkbass are full of things you don't know!

I'll take it that neither of my Thunderbird brothers owns a copy of The Gibson Bass Book, it is described therein and there's a picture of this very bass, it's a lovingly made fake.

No, unfortunately no The Gibson Bass Book here. I can only humbly ask your indulgence! Should I be consigned to play a Jazz Bass for penance? For a while, I'm not playing on forever! That ain't happening!:)
