Thunderbird Club

yes, they crashed not because of the virus but rather some recently passed regulations known as the “Sub Contractor Law” affecting most freelancers, pro musicians included....
I have read the news on that law, and according to what I read, it was aimed squarely at Uber and Lyft. Musicians were just collateral damage.

Yeah, I get that feeling...last night it looked like it was snowing lightly; when I went out to do laundry/groceries/meds run today, my black Suburban was covered in white ash... :(

should have gotten the Olympic White...:D

just sayin’ now that Uber and Lyft are outta biz in CA...

If that's true - good riddance.

Huh? Why the good riddance? Lots of folks supplement their income with this service and I find them to be indispensable when I'm out of town. Used them a ton, both Uber and Lyft, on my last big vacation and it's great that you can get a vehicle sized for your group and possessions.

Thunderbird Thursday! :hyper:

Last week I promised new pics of the GBP, so here's the newest:

o_O Sounds like some thought they knew what was/is best for others whom they must of necessity deem inferior and unqualified to make their own rational choices as adults.....

I feel for all the people who were attempting to make a living or at least supplement their living driving for them. My drummer at one point drove for both. I was directing my comment at the companies and their CEO's whose libertarian approach to business was destroying workers rights for their own profit and greed. As it was something that worked as a service, my hope is new versions will spring up that are worker co-opped/owned.

I can't really respond since it'll have to include politics and modes of governance... so Thunderbirds are awesome!

and freelance teachers, contractors etc. etc. yes on musicians..

Action-reaction...repeat. This is how things evolve and creative minds will come up with more specific interpretations/implementation of the laws which will be aimed at better protecting freelance workers rights which is long overdue.
