Thunderbird Club

says Burns..

Japanese vintage from the late '60s made by Teisco Gen Gakki, not to be confused with Burns of London. (UK). There were a few Gibson-like solid-body designs back then coming out of Japan but they were primarily Fender-esk as Fenders were more recognizable and popular. The most referenced shape for solid-bodies was a Fender Jazzmaster/Jaguar. Their hollowbody designs reflected/referenced Gibson, Gretsch and Guild guitars/basses.

A bird in the wild.

Lets please keep the political comments out of the thread, I don't want to risk it's getting shut down. o_O Sounds like some thought they knew what was/is best for others whom they must of necessity deem inferior and unqualified to make their own rational choices as adults.....
Amen for that and Thunderbirds!

Haven’t picked it up yet, but my nephew is happy with doing the trade:

Nice. If you decide you don't like it ping me, I have a killer Jaguar SS hot rodded with a custom built John East preamp I'd trade for it.

Are there any basses you don’t have? You all talked me down from that Ray, and it’s much appreciated. I no longer want a Ric. A few more birds will no doubt come along, but I’m not really Jonesing for much else bass wise any more.

So it’s NSMD. Always nice when the wife gets herself something...

You get a bass and a dog in this swap? Winning!
Is that a dog?
Most bassists would probably say my nephew is getting the better end of the bargain. It’s a Squier with a Squier P neck that I cut down to 1.5 nut width. Plays and sounds good, but I never really bonded with it.
I routed a big chamber under the pickguard, but it still weighs 9.5 lbs.
