Thunderbird Club

My submission for TT.... (Thunderbird in the video and used to record the song)

Since we are not playing gigs in the the Philadelphia are we seem to be spending our time making low budget videos!

A high-school friend of my son is attending NYU film school and she made this video for a class and to add to her portfolio.

Nice! I've listened to the record many times. Nice to sort of see you guys playing some of it.

Happy Thunderbird Thursday to my sisters and brothers. I hope all are staying well. I have been wanting to put together a small light rig for sometime. A guitar picking friend and I keep talking about playing wine tasting rooms or coffee houses once the lockdown ends. I had the little Ashdown repaired, and first tried a Rumble 2X10, but it didn't quite do it, so I swapped it and a pedal for a new little Ampeg cab, and am much happier with the sound. Not quite like its big brother, but has been great fun to experiment with so far. May add a second cab just for fun. Have a great day everyone, the weekend is almost here.
Those are great cabs! Congrats on a good buy. Ashdown tubes and an Ampeg cab....would love to play through that rig!

No one would guess that’s a film school project. Very cool vid!

Don’t worry, I’m not stalking you intentionally. I was listening to the earlier Poppy stuff (which I’d love to buy physical copies of if they are made available again) and came across this and some ELM. Very cool! Bit of a Minutemen influence?

Thanks for caring! Minutmen for sure. I saw the minutemen every time they were in Philly save one and opened for firehose. Got to talk to Mike Watt a bunch, as well as Curt Kirwood from Meat Puppets, Greg Norton from Husker Du and Klaus Flouride form Dead Kennedy's among others.

For a teenage suburban punk, meeting the people whose records you bought and listened too was a real mind blowing experience! They were all really nice and very supportive of people playing music.

Cath and I spent the week on Seneca Lake in a vintage 1920s cottage. We spent most of our time hiking and enjoying the fall foliage. I did pick up a pre WWII piece of folk art a representation of the Spirit of St. Louis, it was made with lots of love and attention to detail. Aside from Tbirds this is the kind of stuff that gets me excited.

Played another Epiphone Vintage Pro today. Still can't get over how comfortable the neck was, the rolled fretboard is very nice, and the tone was incredible...top pickup, bottom pickup, both pickups, no matter how I adjusted the tone control it sounded amazing.
I know why people buy Gibsons, but I can't understand why anyone would prefer a new one over the VP.
