what year is that? mine (80) doesn’t have the holes for the bridge cover and although the pup covers and bridge are shiny smooth, the claw and rings are finished in this matte polished look. is there a way to tell the year by the s/n on these?

I think mine is a '77, the pup, rings and tuners are really dull, polished and the bridge/claw were chrome. Mine has a @godofthunder59 Badbird Bridge and cover on it now - The only bass I've ever replaced a 3 point on.

House update. Listing went live Monday early afternoon. Had one showing that evening and five the next afternoon through evening. Received one offer $5k over asking price (which we accepted) and received a "backup" (their word) today. That's a relief. You never know what weird piece of news (true or not) that will spook the market and scare buyers.
We had a heck of a time selling our 1911 house in Western Colorado. Everything was set to go with one offer, but she ended up backing out after the inspection because of some cracks in the brick fascia. We had a structural engineer's report from a couple of years earlier which said that the cracks were NOT structural, but apparently the inspector convinced the buyer that he knew more than a structural engineer. We got an updated report from the same engineer after the first buyer backed out, and he just laughed when I told him the buyer had been worried that things had moved since the last report. He said "this house hasn't moved in 80 years".

We got another low-ball offer after the first deal fell through, but that guy never even responded to our counter-offer. Then we got an offer from someone and had everything set to go, but the title company had to delay the closing because they were backed up. Then the buyer's lender wanted more info from her, even though she was pre-approved, because "the guidelines changed". Ummm... don't they go by the guidelines that were in place when she got PRE-APPROVED???? She ended up changing lenders and we FINALLY closed on the sale a couple of weeks ago. It was a great relief, since the new city is much more expensive than where we were. Now we can dump that money into our current mortgage and cut our payment way down. Whew!

Pre-approved is not actually an approval. It is more of a spending guideline. The lender still has to approve of the deal as a whole before releasing the funds. It is a matter of risk management.

Imagine if a pre-approval were a blanket go-ahead. You buy a worthless property from your friend/accomplice for the pre-approval amount. Skip your payments. Lender forecloses on a worthless property and you and your friend/accomplice split the proceeds. Sure, the bank eventually wins a civil suit against you after you and your friend/accomplice are convicted of fraud. But there are lots of legal fees and many years. And the lender will be lucky to actually recover $0.50 on the dollar.
