I think we need more pictures of the dog.

I can do that. He's more photogenic than I am.

His favorite toy--more so when younger. A rubber ear of corn. When he plays with it we call him..."corn dog." This was after a surgery a while back and he started feeling better.

The view is in part payment to myself for my mother moving in (who I mentioned can be pretty trying at times)!

Congrats on getting the move part behind you. It won't be long now and the settling in part will be behind you as well.

As for the ruts... surprisingly easy to deal with if you're so inclined.

Using a round point shovel like this one: Eagle 46 in. Long Handle Steel Round Point Shovel-1554300 - The Home Depot

You just need to lift the rut above grade to eliminate the soil compaction and nature will do it's thing with future rains to return the soil density back to normal.

This process goes quicker than you'd think.

You put the shovel nose in the rut vertically as deep as you can and pull back on the handle to lift the sod. Move back 8-10 inches and repeat. Don't pop it up too much above grade or it'll cause issues with mowing. I was able to repair ruts left on my property by a well drilling rig in pretty short order. Obviously it'll help if the lawn has seen some rain to soften things up and not knowing if there's a lot of rocks or roots at shovel depth but that could slow things down as well. I didn't have anything like that under my sod so I was done way faster than I thought I'd be. The drill rig guy showed me how to do it and I was grateful.

Thank you, and that's a good idea. I told the guy I thought the freezing and thawing we're about to experience before long would help. But I like that idea if he wants to "work" on the ruts in some way. I might suggest I'll do that if he wants.

Finally moved in. Have no idea where anything but my basses are.....but we're here. Had to smooth over an issue with the guy across the street. The movers drove in a part of the dead end he mows and left ruts. (Suggested they not do that yesterday, but they did today.) There are some ruts in some grass, but I apologized and told him I suggested to the driver how to best enter the drive. We're all good now, but I did slip in later when asking what I need to mow that the the (his) property line was way back from the area he was complaining about. But we had a great conversation and it should be a good situation in the future. He even came over and talked nicely to the driver as they were leaving. Everybody has off days.

Got to relax on the deck few minutes, then back at it trying to get the cable service up and running.

Suzi Quatro is great!
Helped pave the way for a lot of women musicians, especially in rock music. Kathy Valentine from the Go-gos said she started playing guitar because of Suzi.

Thanks for the clip! The band sounds very much like PET, one of my favorite and sadly now defunct female lead vocal bands. If the rest of their music is similar I'll be looking for the album they're releasing soon.

BTW - I'm in the Spector club also (fantastic active basses and a perfect complement to Thunderbird passive basses) so I posted the Facebook pics you shared on their thread. One of the club members (japhy4529) replied back with some cool info...

I hear ya, as a KY transplant to SoCal I still haven't gotten used to fall in December, winter in January, spring in February and summer the rest of the year. Not that I miss driving in snow and ice, but it's pretty to look at.

Otoboke Beaver is an all female Japanese hardcore band and their bass player plays a Thunderbird.

The song is mostly in English but you have to listen very attentively to make out what they're saying. The Japanese lyrics basically say "Don't light my fire unless you've got anything to put it out again!"
