I also had Thunderbuckers put in 63N/66S configuration. It's like a brand new bass tone wise and the lighter headstock makes it more comfortable. Thanks for all the advice everyone.

A Goth with Thunderbuckers. Awesome! Do you know how difficult the install was? New pots and cap? Or stock? I’m thinking my Goth with the nice dark FB and relatively light weight should get turned into something monstrous too. Already has the SuperTone. Which tuners did you go with? I got mine last year as NOS from an independent and it has turned out to be a real nice player. It is definitely worth dropping the coin into it to have something different.

What @GBassNorth said. Someone else asked a couple weeks ago too. Contact the seller at Overstock Toys. Let him know there is some more interest here for the Thunderbird pickguards. They’re nice PGs and have become the mod of choice for some of the ‘15 owners here.

I've mentioned b4, and, no, I don't get a 'finder's fee', Pickguardian.com. He has a ship(sp)load of colors available, but you'll hafta get yer THUNDERBIRD logo/decal somewhere else. He can't legally put logos on his products.

Before you yank the stock pups in that Goth drop in a .022uf cap. I've hardly touched my 2015 since I made the Goth mod. If you're interested let me know, I think I have a few spare caps left and could send you one.

oh yes, They had a base here IHA. Long gone now.
Built tractors and trucks, did some stuff for the Army. Had a foundry and cast engine blocks for the farm equipment and some trucks. They had a deal with Chrysler Aust for a while where a truck/van they each had received a common cab built by Chrysler. So we had a range of Dodge & International trucks that looked the same.
Also during the 70s the largest selling truck here was the International ACCO. Australian Constructed Cab Over.
The Japanese trucks took over the market except for the big semis and doubles from the 80s.

edit: Iveco took Inter over in 92 and evidently still build the ACCO but new models with modern looks and tech. Still built here. I didn’t know the bit in this edit until now. Good news.

I played at church for the first time since March. The VP (RS66s) and CP (CFs) sounded even more different in the mix than they do practicing solo. That’s good as I wanted the different flavors- except I wasn’t hearing any low end out of the VP. Time to try some new strings. I want a bit more zing than the CFs (I tried them a while back) but want more bottom (ahem) than I am getting (ahem) from the RS66s.

Also, this time I was plugged into a REDDI instead of the ubiquitous SansAmp, and WOW. Instant fan! That’s the best I’ve heard my birds sound!

A new song was in Eb, and with odd timing. I thought I had a handle on the timing, but (as expected), we did it differently than the recording. But nobody reacted to the clams, so yay!

The down side? Almost no one was wearing a mask (I did, and stayed behind the singers on stage), and having to social distance. Usually I would get hugs from almost everyone.

Another down side- I couldn’t find my Beats so I used my home listening headphones. I think I left my Beats at the other church I played with back in March. The worship leader is taking a break so I need to get hold of someone else to ask. But that’s long enough someone may have considered them abandoned...

Glad you got to play Miles! We are taking a break due largely to the Governor's directives. I'll say no more on that. I feel more safe at church than any public place, but we're trying to do out part. Everyone is careful and very respectful towards others. Everyone wears a mask.

Anyway, early on I found VPs lacking in bottom because I was used to a bigger sound my '64 gives. Boomers provided what I was looking for. Bigness and mid punch. Round Core Boomers for more warmth if needed. String Joy's sound great as well--pretty close to regular Boomers and can be had in custom sets at no extra charge. I also liked Dean Markley's Blue Steels. Something to consider that may help with more bottom.
