If that's true then it's an unfortunate problem (I presume they're finding it almost impossible to resolve).
If you don't mind, of course I want to ask which of the current manufactures' power tubes (6550 and KT88) might be better in this regard, in your opinion.

I feel lucky to be so happy with EL34II. And they *fit*, physically, in the YBA-300. The above tubes won't.
JJ Kinkless Tetrode 88s are fine tubes... for 6550s I prefer the Tung-Sol remakes..

I read Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail. It was wonderfully insane. But how to describe it to others? Kind of like Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy with drugs.

The book is way better - but Jonny Depp does a good job ATC. Owen Wilson (who I like) was not as good as the actor in the BBC series of Hitchhikers GttU

My favorite quote from that book: "It was sometime after midnight in a ratty hotel room and my memory of the conversation is haze, due to massive ingestion of booze, fatback and forty cc's of adrenochrome."

That's Simon Jones. Sam Rockwell was Zaphod in the movie. That's who I thought you thought was Owen Wilson.

Zaphod Beeblebrox could have been played by Howard Stern as the actor in the BBC series reminded me of him.

Wow - for whatever reason I though OW was in it. Just checked and he wasn't. Maybe I thought Sam Rockwell was OW. Haven't seen it since new in '05.
Yeah, that makes sense. I could see that happening. I think the movie is worth rewatching. I appreciate it a lot more now. Especially after watching it with the commentary.
