Cool,
Actually the controls on the "top" are more functional than one may think, great for volume swells and quicker access to "on the fly "adjustments than on the "bottom" IMHO
There’s a really cool Burning Spear video from 83 where the bassist plays a lefty Rick right handed. He seemed to be doing alright with the controls on top. And.....Trippy!

Memory isn't my strong suit, and I'm down in Mesquite NV for a week or two so no access to my notes. I used 250 volume pots and a 500 tone pot with a .047 orange drop on my Thunderjazz (ash body). For my ThunderP (mahogany body), I'm going 250 volume pots, 500 tone and .022 cap.
Good info. I went with 500s in my Blondebird and gonna switch the volume to a 250 to bring things down a bit.

From Thanksgiving. I turned the corner and saw this... What the... I was so surprised I had to take a pic. No, he didn't have a plate. He was just sitting there while others ate a late desert.

Fortunately my wife is blocked by her sister or I would not dare post this. The dog is the one my wife brought home that was headed to the pound. A Malti-Poo with a bad attitude ("little man syndrome") when he arrived. I gave him some near death experiences and removed of couple of his favorite items and he turned into a better dog. He's now my mother's dog.

Can someone give me the link for China-buckers and which value pots and caps would be recommended? Thanks.

Funny, just now I couldn't find Chinabuckers either. In Apr 2020 I bought a set from Performance Music company for $87.95. I ordered another pair in Nov 2020, they cancelled out of stock. I bought a pair from Eyguitar in Nov 2020 for $20 more, they shipped from China, took 3 weeks but got them. They don't show any on their site now.

Last time we went through this I got a splitting headache. But I don’t recall the answer to the question: Does it balance better?
Absolutely!!
Which is the reason I did it in the first place, it all started when I was "wrestling" with my Epi Pro V, while doing so I picked it up by the lower wing and it balanced perfectly!! Problem solved, all I have to do is get a lefty right!? WRONG!! I had to wait 4 years for Gibi to do a limited run in 2018 which would definitely put them in the "Hens Teeth" category!!
Another unexpected benefit was/is the longer string length between the nut and the tuners in regards to the lower strings which does add a tad more "Thunder" to that Boryd :bassist:

knowing you, you have obviously considered buckers on that...why not? no need? resale value?....
I'm a Humbuckers guy, but the Dano lipsticks are one of the very few single coils I do like. The great news is GFS makes a humbucking set of lipsticks that can be coil tapped to retain that Dano sound when needed.

I've considered doing a custom build bird using a couple of these Humbuckers when I get a chance. As JIO said, placement of these is very important if you want the Dano scoop sound. To do it right I'd need to tub out a test mule TBird and experiment with pup placement and coil taps and pots and caps. Not a small or cheap undertaking but very rewarding if done right.

I was half way there with my FrankenGoth and might use it as a mule if my daughter wants to donate it. This might end up being my winter COVID project.

so apologies for the dumb question, but the lower horn on the tbird is noticably more pronounced than the top horn on the non reverse version..... given the endemic neck dive complaints, why didn't gibson ever do a 'reversed reversed' t bird with the upper horn sticking out farther than the lower one......basically a flipped tbird
Good news is, endemic neck dive complaints aren't all they're cracked up to be. I obviously can't speak for every bird made, but none of the 7 birds I own is a diver. That said, as Chucky pointed out, Greco did make a reversed reverse and I consider them to be pretty cool looking but very hard to come across.

Reverb has one listed, a bit rough but a reasonable price, grab it if you're interested. Gibby liscenced or not they'll give any Gibby a run for the money on build, quality or sound.

Looks to me like he runs the place.

Yeah. Like the way those aftermarket pickguards with logos just seemed to disappear. Strange times.

Thank you so much! What difference are you expecting between the .047 and the .022?

Thanks again! I'll check them out! Am I searching for "Chinabuckers" or is there another name to search with?
