Thunderbird Club

As of 1/18/2021 I'm half done with my Covid vaccination, next is 2/8/2021 - yay! No side effects other than a little soreness which some Advil took care of - happy Thunderbirds!

What a cool studio bird. I just watched the Anderton’s namm 2021 video and the only birds were the standard Gibson and epiphones that looked to be vp’s. I’m kinda disappointed.

Re the Studio, it's a great variation on the traditional concept, and while I've traded out the stock TB Plus pickups in some of my other Birds, I wouldn't dream of it with this one. When you pair it up to Ken's favorite SIT Power Steel strings it's a bit of a monster, I only wish I'd gotten one sooner.

I’ve been a dean markley blue steel user for a very long time. Could anyone compare them to SIT stainless steel? FYI, I use them on my main stambaugh attitude bass finger style but, on my bird pick style I’ve been using d’addario nickle wound steel.

Nice! I made an offer on a studio 5 and got beat by a higher offer.

I'm in NY and trying to get my 83 y/o mother (active healthcare worker) a vaccination and cannot get her an appointment. The rollout in NY is a disaster.

Hang in there on both counts - worth it!

It’s bad in Texas too. We’ve had three “Covid drive thrus” to dispense the vaccine and people start lining up at 4:30 in the morning to get it; and many times those early birds don’t even get it. They’ve dispensed 6500 vaccines total at the drive thru so far in a county of 500,000 for Nueces County, Texas. We’ve tried each time to try and pre-register for my 78 year old mother in law but have been unsuccessful and waiting in line isn’t easy for us to do. Then I hear that administration officials at our local hospitals have gotten it — even though they aren’t in direct contact with patients and aren’t high risk (immuno-compromised and such) and it makes me shake my head.

oh my, my....look what I found....love these Thompson Trophy racers and the William Bros for reproducing them...they have since been rebranded (all five brothers passed) but the original vintage box art remains the cooolest by far......these are not for the beginner but man, so rewarding when they come out right....:hyper:

Glad to see a DM fan. I used them when younger then stopped when I wasn't playing much. Bought a couple sets in recent years and still like them. Much underrated string IMO. I'm going to but a set on one of the VPs when the Boomers fade.
