Thunderbird Club

Here's another of Tom Peterson's basses, this is a '64 T-bird with a John Lennon graphic.

I understand the historical and celebrity value in this bass, but I gotta say - I'm not fond of that paint job at all.

Small town called Edmonton. Home of The Kentucky Headhunters and Black Stone Cherry. Haven't been back there in forever. I think the nearest city was Glasgow and then Bowling Green.
I've not been there but IIRC it's not far from Mamoth Caves where I spent a lot of time. Very pretty area. So there's at least three of us here with a wee bit of KY bluegrass in our veins.

Damn i've a lot to catch up on, been gone for way longer than i thought :D

however, in regards to soda, i've grown up where both soda & pop were used interchangeably (born in 94, so this must've been more early 00's for me). I enjoy cream soda (both real & junkie juice xp) however its the only soda that doesnt quench my thirst.

Probably why i stick to root beer. Not much a fan of coke/pepsi although i'll drink them once in a blue moon.

Hi Andii!

Long time, I hope you're well and safe - stick around ;)

Back in 71 I was in Boston for a couple of weeks. Found a little Cafe and ordered a Soda with my Lunch. Waitress did not understand and she said they called it a Tonic. Never head that before . Milkshakes were called a Frapper.
Boston is its own country.

Most often "coke" was what people used. I don't drink but maybe one "coke" a week if that. But I do like real creme soda. Not that horrible red junkie juice stuff that is also called creme soda. I believe Shasta Creme Soda was a light blue. Good stuff. I don't think there's such a thing any longer, not here anyway.

Specialty drink, I suspect. I see it at a country store we drive a half hour to eat burgers at. They have a great selection of craft root beers.

For a special treat, we would pour a small bag of Planters Peanuts into a bottle of RC Cola. Did other parts of the country do this? Hadn't thought of this in years. We also froze Reese's Peanut Butter Cups prior to eating them.

Tried peanuts in a Coke. Yuck. And RC and I never got along. But I knew a lot of Georgians who loved RC.

Real(50's-60's)Dr.Pepper was Syrupy in texture. Also had a bit of a kick in it. No idea what it was but I liked it. There's a place in Ft. Pierce, FL, that carries original formula[or close]soft drinks with real sugar. I know, not healthy, but a nice occasional 'treat'.

You can still get real DP around here. Only glass bottled tastes right. That and A&W root beer are my faves, followed by any really good root beer.

Hey Sasha!! Good to hear from you.

Good to be back amongst the Flock :P

Life got pretty hectic these last years & i've been catching up on various projects, music endevours & some hassles surrounding general life. All in all, am doing good - In time i'll share what has been done & finally finished in my thunderbird world. Though for now, i still got a few things to fix :)

Now time to go back a few thousand pages & read back from where i last posted before the soda xD

Catch you all relatively soon - if i rehash a post (or few) only cause i'm intrigued & maybe chime in a late discussion x)

Take care, stay safe - be well to all in the kingdom!

& as late as it is: Wishing you all the best this year, in good health, & with good moments!

I don't like to be too repetitive :D

Probably why it bothers me more than a bit that I have two Thunderbirds that are nearly identical :banghead:

Need to get rid of one, I guess, and replace it with something that's different from the others...
Never “get rid of” a Thunderbird. Just make them a bit different, which you certainly are good at doing.

"Chime in late?" That's the norm("NORM!")'round these parts.
