Thunderbird Club

Karn rules...

Someone actually wrote a song about'em, heh....

I have about 100 of my Dad's old Kodachromes from 60+ years ago. Colours are still bright and Kodachrome vivid! Been an ongoing project to scan them all.

I didn't find mine, but I found CDs with pics, scanned by my father... totally forgot about that.

I haven't seen a clip of that concert in a long time. Two exceptionally talented guys on stage each doing their part of the song to perfection, with oddly zero chemistry between them. I don't think either one looked at the other even once during the two songs. In fact they almost looked like they were quite upset about being on the same stage but went through the routine because the show had to go on.

I never really followed Simon and Garfunkel much, did they have a falling out at some point?

I recall that by the end, they did not get along although I don't think that there was a particular incident (like the Eagles) and I don't think either ever swore not to perform on the same stage as the other (like the Eagles) and get back together for the money (like the Eagles) and have a piece of carpet to stand on so as to stay true to their word not to stand on the same stage as the other (like the Eagles).

Answering my own question - I scanned their wiki page and it appears they had a long history of "fallings out".

One example from wiki...
"In 1990, Simon and Garfunkel were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Garfunkel thanked Simon, calling him "the person who most enriched my life by putting those songs through me"; Simon responded, "Arthur and I agree about almost nothing. But it's true, I have enriched his life quite a bit." After performing three songs, the duo left without speaking."

Looks like an ongoing love/hate relationship. A shame really, because they did such great work together.

...artists and their egos (or is it Eagles). ;)

Reminiscent of Jeff Beck's comment about Rod Stewart (although much more in jest):
I have a love/hate relationship with Rod. He loves me and I hate him.

A bit of a Thunderbird teaser for later.....

You need to move to Illinois-"Land of Link'n".:smug: Different link:

And an extra. Warning: NO Bass solo:)

Addendum: All written(except Bass solo in Bernie's Tune)

I recall seeing that now. Very cool how you made a fake Thunderbird HS to fit on a Fender so you could play Big Band--because we all know.....

I like Big Band, but have never got to see anyone live. Maybe one day.
