Thunderbird Club

Nicely played sir!
I'm quite familiar with the heavenly fridge killer sound of the NV610. In fact before I switched to the SVT head I had an Aggie DB750 up top. The SVT/Berg has been part of my big rig for quite a while, unfortunately I don't play out anymore so they're really just gathering dust. I should probably sell them to someone that can put them to good use. My home cab that I play almost daily is an HT-322 Berg that just sounds so nice and can get plenty loud for any venue I'd ever be in if I started gigging again. A couple of us bird brains here have the 322.
Which Bergs are you using for your double stack?

I like a good Berg myself.

Ampeg head on a Berg stack, now that's the way to do it!
And since its Thunderbird Thursday I'll send a bit of Bird-n-Berg love your way as well...

I see Marshall bass combos popping up once in a while in our local ads... what they sound like ?
The last line they did, the MB series of heads and combos, were decent enough. Two channel amps with a vintage tube amp preamp circuit and a modern ss preamp circuit. The one I have I picked up awhile back for $125.00. 60 Watts. 12” driver. It needs servicing, which I’ll look into when the Pandemic is over. Know of anyone who does good work in CA? I’m willing to road trip up north to drop it off...

8ish lbs.. chunky, slabby body, excellent balance, fat pillowy on the neck pup and in your face (almost Stingray like) bridge pup...
similar to the Ashdown Bird...... on a suckier note, RIP Chick Corea...:rollno:

Chick Corea was the single greatest improvisational musician I have ever played with,” John Mayer, who had appeared with Corea onstage, wrote on Instagram. “Nobody was more open, more finely tuned to the moment, changing his approach with every new offering by the musicians around him. If you hit a wrong note, he’d immediately pick it up and play it as a motif so as to say ‘all of this has value, whether you see it or not.

Wish I could help, but never had to have an amp repaired :(

Lookin' up one song from this band for one of my non-bass playing projects and stumbled upon this, which I never heard before. Take away the hair and the ladies and this oddly makes me think of the Beastie Boys...

Thunderbird contents.

This is from the '80s right?

All these wonderful heads and cabs makes me a little sad. My '90s V-4B that I have in my home office has died! I was playing and the sound just went away. Tried it again later several times and can't get a thing out of it.:crying: It had new tubes installed about 3 yrs ago and a grid resistor just before I got it from a TBer. It was always more quite than my trusty V-4BH (same 100w head), which was not a problem since I just had this as a back up and for home use. The store that had my trusted amp tech closed and I have no idea where he's at. Going to have to find someone when this gift from another region is under control. Why can't I live in SoCal or better Chucky live in Ky?:rollno:
