Thunderbird Club

Found this old pic from a few years ago with the "Sexy Mother brothers" playing my '64 II. I had my T-shirt printed the week before and the brothers were T**** supporters, so they went out of their way not to mention it. We made a pact not to talk politics when together but there was no mention of T-shirt messages. :) Our The Sean Conneries drummer Steve was there and said the bird sounded good. That was saying a lot - he's not one to gush. :D

You look different than that 1973 pic with your first Thunderbird....

I know, I know. Don't we all.

Yes - aging happens! :) Actually, the SX-70 pic I posted was me and my 2nd '64 II in '78. I don't have a pic of me with my 1st '63 T-bird II in '74. (stollen in '78) I wish I had a pic of it because there apparently was only a few II's produced that 1st year. So far there's two '63s I've seen on the Thunderbird fb page. Who knows what became of mine. I did get the ebony/abalone pg I made for it back more recently. The original white one was in the OHSC case the bass was in when stollen.

Liked it, modern....I’m a sucker for maple fingerboards..

Yah, and 22 fret necks w/good access to the nose-bleed section. Heavy? Light? What do they generally go for? The Dean hs shape is like the Epiphone 'batwing' - works well on a bird-like object.

8ish lbs.. chunky, slabby body, excellent balance, fat pillowy on the neck pup and in your face (almost Stingray like) bridge pup...
