...Maybe even a plain place one with the logo would look better....
I got mine from Pickguardian.com. They'll all say(US companies anyway)they can't put the logos on as Gibson and Epiphone own those but one can get Thunderbird decals on the interweb. Prolly get the Goth crosses too(I never looked). If you decide to try a plain no-logo p/g, they have some here:
Pickguards for Epiphone Basses | Pickguard Planet
(scroll down the page a bit)
That's where I got my new not-goth pickguard

We have to wait 900 years! I wonder if they will make the pickups available on their own. The spec sounds interesting.2921 Nonreverse Thunderbird update. pickups are humbucking alnico five 60's spec. This information comes directly from high up at Gibson. Delivery eta April.
Well we waited this long what another 900 years? We have to wait 900 years! I wonder if they will make the pickups available on their own. The spec sounds interesting.
Nice amps and nice Eminence speakers from right here in Eminence, KY!

Now I really, really want one that they actually thought through the PUs this time.2021 Nonreverse Thunderbird update. pickups are humbucking alnico five 60's spec. This information comes directly from high up at Gibson. Delivery eta April.
Woo Hoo! I guess PillO needs another bass (or two?). Green, blue, or red? Tough choice. I am leaning greenish. But Burgundy would be cool and I do like red basses. And I have a fondness for blue, especially pelham blue.2021 Nonreverse Thunderbird update. pickups are humbucking alnico five 60's spec. This information comes directly from high up at Gibson. Yeah, I'll say that was the deciding factor. It wasn't, but it is what I'll say.Now you've made me go and want one! Seriously, that's great news.
So that’s where the name comes from.Nice amps and nice Eminence speakers from right here in Eminence, KY!
Sounds like Gibson can put you down for 3 to 4 then.Woo Hoo! I guess PillO needs another bass (or two?). Green, blue, or red? Tough choice. I am leaning greenish. But Burgundy would be cool and I do like red basses. And I have a fondness for blue, especially pelham blue.
Curse you Gibson for your production of irresistible basses.
My Ampeg Heritage 410 has Eminence drivers as does a Fender 115 I have. Both sound great, but very different. So that’s where the name comes from.
The 410 cab was built in Melbourne Australia (not Florida) tho. Elfa (Electr Factory I think) another company that has gone.
The two heads are Eminar from Melbourne. In the Australian era AC/DC Mark Evans rumbled his Ripper (and others) through a 300w valve Eminar, mine is only 100w but sounds so sweet...
The name? Comes from the company owners. One’s name started with an M and the other an R. Em & Ar see.
Thanks. It has been a while since I had listened to Not Fragile. But it is such a great bit of riff rock, I spent a little time and learned it.I don't know what the flats are, actually - they were put on by the previous owner, and I didn't think to ask him which ones. So far what I am feeling is that they are good for this kind of tone: Bachman Turner Overdrive, "Not Fragile", less good for this kind of tone: Guns 'n' Roses, "Rocket Queen"
Oh, and one other thing I forgot to mention in the original post: this VP has Thunderbucker 66 pickups in it too. They definitely sound like the clips on the Thunderbucker sounds page + flats!

The GK 115 has an Eminar 250w amp on top. Not as nice as the valve version, I tend to put the zoom before it and run an Ampeg, Marshall or Bassman amp sim. I change as the whim takes me. I haven’t really got to love the cab yet either. It was to be my portable unit. Now nuthin goes anywhere. My Ampeg Heritage 410 has Eminence drivers as does a Fender 115 I have.
