something about a p/j setup on a Bird just plain looks wrong....that and the bolt on neck are showstoppers for me....that said, it probably sounds really really good (P/J on steroids)...

The P/J on my EpiBird 5er suc...er, didn't sound very good.

The stock pickups are nothing special. But the Dimarzio pickup I installed kicks serious a$$!!
I'm a fan of the 3-point, too, never have quite figured out all the hate for it. Of course, I don't like to micro-adjust the strings (among other things), if for no other reason than it would give my ocd fits
Mine's not as pretty, so I figured I'd do 3-shots for a 3-point
I really like my P/J--best I've ever played, but it's no Thunderbird. And I don't want a Thunderbird to sound like P/J. Some have them and love them, and I guess that's all that matters, but it's lost on me. In fact, I think I'd rather have a P/J sound like a Thunderbird.
