I've just about perfected spending other people's money.
Sent a lefty prospect to Ken the other day, but he didn't bite. I need to work on GonePlaid next, a neck through NR or a vintage Greco for under $1000 should do the trick. Incoming!
Let's see. Finish getting my teefus fixed(already started)or buy new-to me-TBird for non-existent gigs[booking haven't been coming, those we get don't pay

I do bite, if you pay me enough.Sent a lefty prospect to Ken the other day, but he didn't bite.
Well, hell, I am 75. 'bout time! There you go being all grown up and responsible.
Personal 'Big Deal' announcement, for mere self-amusement...
I'm finally back to the Long Distance Run-at-it recording project. It's with some people I've been wanting to play with for 20+ years. I actually have before in a different project, though membership was often non-committal. Anyway I recently have re-discovered what I have- and that I like it quite a lot! The lineup is an Epi Thunderbird Classic Pro into a Broughton HPF, then a SansAmp Bass Fly Rig, straight-like into my old MBox jig and to a software app (Tracktion Waveform Free, v11). This is a pretty simple-yet-formidable signal chain.
In the amplification realm there's a Peavey T-Max amp (a minty example of Peavey's venerable "sleeper"). I've been blending the tube/ss inputs and setting the controls for "Crunchy". This has been a mind- and something of a game- changer.
In each their present specific use, these pieces of gear have been excellent ways to wake up and aggressively bring forward the sound of this bass. For the project I've been involved with, this is my "Eureka!" gear moment.
It is a happening, pix to make it so:

1) Broughton HPF'; 2) SansAmp Bass Fly Rig; 3) Dog-Tone Bass Fuzz; 4)Boss bass EQ; 5) MXR Phase 90; 6) Nady Wireless, converted from lavalier mic to instrument (Haven't been using everything, just the HPF and the SansAmp). The big box on the right is a home-spun custom power supply, made by a friend...View attachment 4204032
A lucky find in mint shape, a 90s 'sleeper' of the amp world.View attachment 4204039
LOL - Teeth, ha, they're over rated! If they were really important you'da been born with em! As for using gig money to buy gear, ain't gonna happen. If we all did that we'd each have one thenth the gear we currently have.View attachment 4204036 Let's see. It is a lot, to me, but I haven't paid attention to all this very much, since I'm hardly ever using it. My aim is to just have it and no longer think about it. Because that always leads to trouble.. Hope it all works out.
Heh. It was Halloween quite a few years ago. We still have those things around here somewhere...I'm ROTFLOL! Love the new pic.![]()
Maybe, but I really miss being able to chew one of these pork chops I get/got at the South Florida Fair. [6" ruler to give idea of size]LOL - Teeth, ha, they're over rated! As Uncle Joe would say, Come on mannn, spend that stimulus check! A chicken in every pot (heck with the chicken, just smoke the pot) and a thunderbird in every garage (band). Let's see that "can do" attitude!![]()
