Which? Not expensive or not a solder-soljer?

I highly recommend making your own cables. Great way to learn soldering and if something goes wrong on a gig, you can fix it on the break (provided you brought your portable solder-iron with you).

Those days of slapping an upright spoiled you for life.

Soldering is an easy skill and a decent soldering iron, I choose to use a soldering gun, is very inexpensive.

Just last week, my kids' band was rehearsing when the lead guitarist's Strat went silent. A cable swap didn't fix it, nor did a different amp so we had to dig deeper and sure enough, a solder break at the input jack was the problem. I grabbed my soldering gun and the kids were back in action within minutes.

Dad skills!

I love Chromes on my P. I need another Thunderbird to put Chromes on. Any excuse, right?
I second the motion for you to get another Thunderbird.
Any objections?
Motion was carried unanimously.
Meeting adjourned.

I think you should go for blue. It will also match the silks on the Chromes. Win/win.
Post those pics when it arrives!

Agreed, I never personaly heard a noticeable difference between Speakon and phone connectors. I'll be looking for a good phone jack tho. I had a bad experience with my first rig years ago, a Hartke 5500H into a 215 vx Series. The cable I initially used completely fried. It's the only time I used a phone jack connecting head to cab, all the other stuff I had used Speakons. I don't remember what cable I used then, but I'm guessing I went for whatever was at hand at the time.

The Bird is really happy with this rig !
I have never used a Speakon connector with anything. It's all been 1/4". So long as the 'Bird is happy, I'm happy.

This is one of the most advanced and sophisticated examples of enabling we have seen around here for a while. Nicely done!

My top 2 choices for rounds on my ‘Birds have been set for awhile now, but I do love flats on some basses for certain gigs. Just for fun going to try a set of D’addario Chromes. They sound nice on a buddy’s P bass, but I have no idea what I’ll think of em on my T Bird

I have Chrome Flats on my BaCH and it sounds good, but they are certainly the brightest flat I've played, even more so than Cobalts. The tension and surface feel is great, the color is a bit odd, kind of a flat grey color (looks more like a nylon coated string than a metal string). Not sure how they'd sound with a pick but I'd guess they would accentuate the attack a bit more than other flats.

speaking of cables.....:roflmao:..

LOL - PT Barnum was right.

I just replaced one of my older flat screen TVs with a new large screen 4K Ultra HD TV. To get the most out of it you need to have a 4K sound bar or sound system. And, of course with a sound bar, the only way you'll get true Atmos 4K sound is to have 4K HDMI cables between the sound system and TV (and also the DVD player if you have one, which also has to be 4K). There is a premium for the 4K cables (IIRC about twice the cost of standard HDMI cables) but not bad.

FWIW I had the Geek squad bring out three sound systems so I could see which one worked best in my family room (25' cathedral ceiling and 25'x30' room). The LG sound bar sounded good and was the most affordable, the Sonos system was by far the best with movie sound and by far the best on connectivity and true wireless, the Sennheiser was the most expensive and sounded slightly better than the Sonos with music but not as clear on movies (it also got bloody hot, not a good thing for electronics). I went with the Sonos Arc sound bar (including the sub and two rear speakers) and couldn't be happier.

Now I just need to figure out a way to stream my Thunderbird through it for some true entertainment.

Just trying to return the several favors that have been given me since spending time here and thus adding to my bird collection. We all do our part. In the words of that famous Canadian, "We're all in this together."

Good to see someone around here finally use Robert's Rules of Order.
We're so much more sophisticated than the other Talkbass Clubs. And chatty too.
