Thunderbird Club

Thanks, that’s exactly the info I was looking for! Nice collection btw
It was hard to decide b/t the white and the burst, but the one I chose is the tobacco burst like the 2nd from left in your pic (i hope... all the pics I see of them on forums or in videos look very rich in color like yours, but the stock pic from Epi/MF/GC all make the colors look kind of anemic.....so my fingers are crossed.) I’m stoked and can’t wait, but it looks like I’ll be sending that Gator bag back to MF.

Glad the guys could help out, when your new Bird arrives please take a picture and post it here, I'll add you to the club roster. Be welcome here, post any question you might have, and of course there's lots of side conversation too.

Ive got a burst VP. They are lookers for sure.
As far as the Tbird club, just post a pic when you get the bass and the Queen will give you a number.
There are a lot of cool and helpful folks here. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. And welcome!

I’m still living in the eighties as far as Stereo AV. Sounds good to me. We don’t watch enough tv/movies to justify the fancy tv setup. I’d rather spend money on music gear that’s way better than I am.

I was right there with you until I upgraded just because everyone was doing it and deals were to be had.

Nothing fancy mind you.

Samsung 75" 4K w/a Bose surround sound system with subwoofer.

The TV was $1,700 and the sound system was $800. Total investment of around 2.5K.

In a word, AMAZING!

We only turn the Bose on for movie watching and blockbuster movies to be more specific. For general TV viewing, the TV's speaker system is more than sufficient.

If you upgrade, you won't regret it if you like to watch movies at home.

Sorry if this is the wrong way to go about this. I’m kinda new here and I’m not sure how the “club” thing works.....

I’ve got an Epi Thunderbird 60s bass (vintage pro) on the way and I’m trying to find an affordable gig bag that it’ll fit in. MF told me this one would work -
https://www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/gator-gb-4g-bass-series-gig-bag-for-bass-guitar

It showed up today and I’m skeptical. Spec sheet says it’s got 48” length inside, but my tape measure says more like 46-1/2.

What I really want to know is either;
1) can someone who has one of the T-birds give me a point to point measurement from the tip of the body to the crown of the headstock, or......

2) Does anybody out there with one of these have a gig bag that’s decent and fits, for less than a C-note?

Thanks
Welcome to the club..Outstanding choice going with the Epiphone VP.
Be careful..those things seem to multiply once the first one gets in the house :)

Thanks!

You are very welcome. This is the place to be for all things Thunderbird (and a few other things as well!). Likely over a hundred years of Thunderbird and bass experience here at your fingertips. You just have to keep an eye on some of the much beloved Canadians.:D They can blur facts and humor effortlessly.

The other day SW had the Gator GoPro gig bag on sale. I called my sales tech(Jeff) to double check that it would fit the 67NR. Someone had switched a coupla dimensions. Oops! and nope. Oh, well, I still gots the CoffinTM case.
I've got a great gig bag I'd sell reasonably, but shipping was crazy when I looked at shipping it to JIO. Of course So FL is a little closer than SF.

Actually, found a way to reduces my exposure to cables. This got in today:

Crazy! I literally picked one up at an L&M last weekend! I've had two in the past and didn't really give it a chance. I'll keep this one and learn how to make the patches properly this time. Keep us/me posted on how you like it! I think they're a solid piece of gear!
