Thunderbird Club

About ten years ago(???) a friend was in town and he wanted to see Korn so we went. Surprised when we heard them cover Pink Floyd - Another Brick in the Wall, we were taken completely by surprise. they did a good job.
Korn is better than they get credit for. For some reason, people just want to hate on them (especially fieldy).

There are plenty of interesting covers out there:

And plenty of bad ones

I just rented a used 1510 the other day. I have been growing tired of my Rumble 500 and 210 cabs. They are a great product, but my 800RB is my favorite and it was just so so paired with the rumble cabs. I put the 1510 under the GK and it was heavenly! I have put the Rumble rig up for sale as a result.

Traynor gear is awesome!

It's not that I don't like covers, I do. I just don't like it when they aren't a close reproduction of the original. But oddly enough, I do like covers that take a pop song and make it hard rock or metal.

Disturbed has done this successfully a few times.

But then there's those guys that cover rock songs with cellos... no thanks.

The Piano Guys' version of "Paradise" ("Peponi") blew the original away. Then again, the original was by Coldplay, so that wasn't hard. I will say that of the few Coldplay songs I've knowingly heard, Paradise was the one I could stand. But Peponi is an all time fave. And for the three of you who haven't watched the video, you need to. They really flew a grand piano atop that butte with a helicopter.

Of course, you could make the argument that Coldplay isn't rock. I tend to agree, at least based on what I've heard.

Once you really start looking a Gibson from back then closely you'll see a lot of inconsistencies, the place was a big "Job Shop" and one hand often did not know what the other was doing.

That shows up heavily in the amplifiers, where the circuit and component list morphed far more rapidly than the schematics.

Well, she finally sold right after a second price drop on Reverb (forgot to change it on TB. Oh well). The lighting doesn't show that she's a bright red cherry burst. I love my birds, but from a purely visual esthetics standpoint, this was easily the most beautiful instrument I've owned. Now she's in a UPS van headed to San Jose. I hope Anthony enjoys playing her as much as I have. Farewell, old friend.

Ironically, I had decided to take the listings down and just tell Sharon this was wall art when I found out she had sold. Say la vee. (sic)

Only listened to the Highway Star cover so far. I'm impressed. And I say that as a huge Purple fan who listened to the Fireball album only an hour ago. (Yes, I know it's a different album!)

Gotta say I much prefer Chickenfoot's cover of Highway star.... Michael Anthony is a great bassist and singer with out doubt!

While I'll never be a rabid fan, Miley is very good covering Blondie's "Heart of Glass" here.
