There has been the occasional Subaru sighting in Seattle. One or two. My brother, who lives about four doors down, has one.I'll see your Volvo and raise you two Subarus![]()
Cool P bass!
Not likely, but if you ask real nice in a PM he might make you a sweet deal. They are fantastic looking basses, never had an opportunity to buy one but a few people in the club have and love them.I've decided the only way I'm ever going to get rid of my NR 'Bird GAS is to get a Cataldo NRBird. There's no price listed for this bass on the website - does this mean they're free to Thunderbird Club members?

The AUD is only buying 76 cents atm, effectively adding a third to the price of anything in USD, eg USD1500 = AUD1970. I think I need a bigger coin jar.
Geez, what IS it with T-Birds and Subarus? I have one and the wife has one... But she doesn't play a T-BirdThere has been the occasional Subaru sighting in Seattle. One or two. My brother, who lives about four doors down, has one.
My son's current girlfriend has a ratted out Subaru. It could probably be a pretty decent car, but she doesn't have any money, so she doesn't maintain it very well. Plus, it's stuck in Los Angeles, the land of big white sedans.
I screw up the logic with a big green Chevy van, official vehicle of plumbers and creepy people. The sign on the side says "free champagne." I go for a different demographic than the usual van type person.

Ok so the last pics from the T'Bird project and its the tuners changing from the stock Epi Y tuner to chrome cloverleaf shape , i chose to go with the Hipshot chrome ultralight HB6C-3/8 these are definately available from hipshot in a reduced size specially for the t'bird but you need to email them , i did but got no reply , i then ordered the stock size only to find the e.mail from hipshot in my junk mail ...doh !!! so they arrived and yes you guessed it they overlap, fortunately i have the technology to cut them down to fit, it needed a reduction of 1.5mm from each side to allow a couple of millimetres gap between each tuner, the peg holes in the headstock needed opening out just a small amount it was literally just removal of the laquer on mine to allow a snug fit ,i used a round or rat tail file and did it by hand ,be sure to mask off the hole with tape it helps to prevent the laquer from chipping.I was pleased with the end resultA few more pics from my T'bird transform , i said previously that i didn't fancy cutting the covers off the TB pickups, just in case i made some damn awful mistake and ruined one or both , i really liked the covers i'd found online http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Chrome-Plated-Metal-bass-pickup-cover-for-Gibson-Thunderbird-bass-guitar-/121123311405
and decided rather than take the risk i'd make some covers that just fit over the top of the pickup as they are, ok it means you have to find your optimum pickup height and stick with it as you cant adjust the height without altering the cover as well but the option of being able to return the bass to stock if i wanted seemed worth the experiment , i used silver sheet as its easy to work and i have it in stock, if you follow the pics you'll see its fairly straight forward the only tricky bit was getting the radius on the edges, it was worth the effort , they fit well and have made no difference to the tone that i can hear , the silver is a softer white than the chrome and it shows up polishing marks which have kind of added to the vintage used look on them, you can also see from the pics i left the original black bridge fixing points in the body , its not that noticeable with the bridge in situ, a load of work but its made the project great fun View attachment 921789 View attachment 921790View attachment 921791 View attachment 921793 View attachment 921794 View attachment 921795 View attachment 921797 View attachment 921798 View attachment 921800 i'll post the links to some of the suppliers i've used in a later post

You're right, free...except case and shipping starts at $1495 USD.

Let me rephrase that for the married men on this thread...They just go together nicely, like sex and................
