My P-Bird sounds exactly like a split coil Precision. That was the idea. Precision in all but shape. I would expect that one to sound like a single-coil P. That's what it is in all but shape.Saw this on the nets -"Telebird" (by Brooks - Bass of the Week on No Treble in '19) - nicely done ash body with traditional amber'd trans-white finish ala '51 P. The Tele hs works better visually than a P-J hs with the T-bird body. Probably sounds like a single-coil P in T-bird guise.

Funny thing about it is that I built it because I wanted a Precision with Thunderbird ergos. Now I'm not all that thrilled about playing it because it sounds thin relative to a Thunderbird. Surprise!
Happy Friday Thunderbird loving sisters and brothers, long week winding down at last. First outing in over a year coming up soon. An end of the school year picnic. Outdoors so am contemplating a second 2x10 cab. Trying to get lighter. No pay, but fun to rehearse and have something coming up nonetheless. In light of the recent pet pictures, I have a new fawn behind my shop. Great fun to watch when they are small.

@Gaolee forgot to mention, the shop I took the Tele bass into has a full 360 rig, two cabs. Sadly the blue on the front and grills are gone, but man I've thought about buying that rig and running the Tele or T-bird through it, talk about 1970 all over again.

In the Mid 70's I lived right next to the Main line SP that went through Milwaukie Or. Was able to see many of the Old Locomotives going out. Always cool to see. I remember the Bi Centennial 4449 going out on the Main tour after the Restoration. Those Locomotives coming through Shook the House!

I used to have a Manx cat named Sammy that looked a lot like that. He was relatively big at about 15 pounds and due to his markings and no tail he looked almost like a bobcat. He passed 40 years ago and I still miss him. Give yours all the lovin you can.
LOL - that looks like one comfy pup. Either that or he's just completely given up trying to fight the humility of being dressed up like a doll.
Labs - that must have been the breed being referenced when the phrase "mans best friend' was coined. I've had a couple in my lifetime and both were precious. As an added feature, the breed was designed with a billy club for a tail, which is exceptionally efficient at clearing off everything sitting on the coffee table.
Just the other day I saw a cute little pup like Mona that had been trimmed like a lion. So awesome, I had to take a pic, I'll post it if I can find it.
Thx, just went down a YouTube rabbit hole with those two labs. Some very funny stuff.

A 'Bird through that rig is the voice of the gods.
$2k, for both cabs and the control unit. But I've talked to them and they'd knock some off for me and more if I pay straight in cash. It's a bit tempting.

I think that bass looks fantastic! I know I’d just route it for a TBird pickup though. Never been able to make those 51 style singlecoils work for what I like to hear. Though I’d still love to have that bass
When I got my Cataldo NR41, Carlo sent it with a ThunderBucker’63 installed and a spare ‘66 in the box. Carlo suggested I try both and send back the one I didn’t want. The TB’63 sounded like the best P bass pickup I’d ever heard. Highly recommended if you want a ‘Pbass and then some.’ I went with the ‘66 because I already have a good sounding Pbass

Well an Update for the Strap Button Relocate. Got it! Second try though. The Bird is a bit lighter now with an extra hole on the end. Little extra Slipper shot included.
Damn, that's the best version I've heard of that song.
